Connecting the Seton Keough High School Community
Happy Mother's Day
Dear Seton Keough Alumnae and Friends,

Happy May! Good news, winter is finally over and spring is here. It is hard to believe that the school year is quickly coming to an end. This has been a year of firsts for me as I continue to learn about and have come to cherish this wonderful community. My first Year Day was exciting and I thank everyone who contributed to the Year Day Color Challenge. I feel I barely got to know The Class of 2015 and they have a few weeks left before they graduate and leave us to pursue their college careers. We will be bidding them farewell at the Class of 2015 Commencement on Thursday, May 28 at the Cathedral of Mary our Queen at 7:30 p.m. All alumnae are welcome. We extend a special invitation to the Seton High School Class of 1965, celebrating their 50th anniversary and the Seton Keough Class of 1990 celebrating their 25th anniversary.

We have much good news to share. I am happy to report that we have a new Director of Institutional Advancement, Mary Henry, who joined us in March. Mary will be in charge of our development, marketing, alumnae, and communications efforts. Please read her introduction below.

Mark your calendars now for a few events coming in the fall. In September we will celebrate the 50th anniversary of Archbishop Keough High School opening its doors. Join us as we welcome Archbishop William E. Lori at a special Opening School-50th Anniversary Mass on Thursday, September 10 at 1 p.m. All alumnae are welcome. On Friday, September 25 we will hold the first-annual Taste of Seton Keough, which is a group event organized by the Seton, Archbishop Keough and Seton Keough alumnae. Expect an evening of wine and beer tastings, excellent food options from several local restaurants and a silent auction. This evening allows our community to come together to celebrate our past and look forward to our future as a school that supports young women in their educational journey. Finally, our Homecoming Festival will be held on Saturday, September 26. Join us as we cheer for our sports teams and welcome our families and alumnae to campus.

During this month of May we celebrate our mothers. I would like to wish all of our mothers, grandmothers, godmothers, and aunts a Happy Mother's Day. I hope you are treated special and showered with God's blessings.

In Christ,

Donna Bridickas

President

Welcome Director of Institutional Advancement Mary Henry
My name is Mary Henry and I've recently joined the staff of Seton Keough as the Director of Institutional Advancement.  I'm so excited to be a part of this wonderful community.  I was lucky enough to experience Year Day, I saw both the theatre and dance shows and am looking forward to attending graduation in May. In the short time I've been here I have been able to see and experience the excellent work being done by the teachers and staff to make sure all the young women of Seton Keough are having the best possible high school experience.

I'm a product of Catholic education from start to finish-St. Mary's in Annapolis through College of Notre Dame in Baltimore-and now my two children are attending Catholic school as well. I've been working in Institutional Advancement for about eight years. I will work closely with Donna Bridickas, and the Admissions, Marketing, and Alumnae offices to forward the mission of our school.  We will continue to work to increase enrollment, secure funds for school improvements, and host fundraising events to support all aspects of the school. Please stop by and say hi if you're in the building, I would love to meet you.

Calling All Alumnae Musicians
The Seton Keough band is in need of musicians to help perform during Baccalaureate Mass on Tuesday, May 26. Many senior musicians will be unable to perform because they will be processing and participating in the Mass. Even if you haven't played in a while, this is the perfect time to dust off that instrument and put it to good use! Contact Band Director Jessica Thomas at [email protected] if you can help.

Alumnae Book Club Meeting

The SKAA Book Club will meet on Monday, June 15 at 7 p.m. to discuss "Barefoot", a beachy novel by Elin Hilderbrand. As always, join us in the library for themed food and drink, and lively discussion. Contact Mary Beth Wickless, Alumnae Coordinator, at [email protected] with questions.
