Character Counts!

Character Counts

This year, Holmes is implementing the Character Counts! character education curriculum. This program has identified universal values referred to as the "Six Pillars of Character" which include:

            * Trustworthiness

            * Respect

            * Responsibility

            * Fairness

            * Caring

            * Citizenship

The school Counselor will be visiting each classroom once a month to present lessons on the different character traits. Teachers will align their "Caught-Ya's" to include these character traits.

There will also be a "Color day" each month where the entire school is encouraged to wear a specific color that represents the character trait being focused on that month.

On Tuesday, March 24th, please wear Green for Responsibility!

For more information on Character Counts! visit their web site at:  http://charactercounts.org/home/index.html.

Here are the dates/Colors:

1/27/15= Blue, Trustworthiness
2/24/15= Yellow, Respect
3/24/15= Green, Responsibility
4/28/15= Orange, Fairness
5/26/15 =
Red & Purple, Caring & Citizenship

Clairemont Day at the Bay - Apr 18

The Clairemont Hills Kiwanis is preparing to hold the 3rd annual Fast Times 5k run that will be followed by the Clairemont Day at the Bay program, an activity based event that will bring nineteen public schools from the community together. The Clairemont Mesa Education Foundation is working with several local organizations and the schools to set up family focused activities and showcase the schools for the community. Our first two annual events were wonderful successes and we are adding more for the community to enjoy. The races will begin at 8:00am and will end by 10:00am when the fun time activities will begin. Click here for more information.
