Patriot Day - Sept 11
Thursday, September 11th, is the 13th anniversary of the catastrophic terrorist attacks against the USA in New York, Washington DC and Pennsylvania. All flags will be flown at half-staff. Please take the time to thank a Fire Fighter, Police Officer or any other public servant on this day of remembrance.
Arts Attack - Volunteers needed!
There's still plenty of time to volunteer for Arts Attack. This Parent led, easy to teach art program is a great opportunity to support the arts at your school! Everything is provided for you to teach/assist once a month in your child's classroom.

"The Classic" Football Game
 












Come out and support Clairemont High Football as they take on Montgomery in "The Classic" football game this Friday September 12th.  Children from our cluster will receive free entrance when attending with a parent.  Hope to see you there! Click here for details.
Back to School Night - Sept 25th
Three Important Events
 in One Evening!

5:00PM - Book Fair Opens

Parents will have the opportunity to browse the book fair with their young scholars and stock their personal or classroom library. Volunteers are needed. Click here for more information or to volunteer.

5:30 - 6:00PM - PTA Association Meeting

Get involved and make a difference! Come and get connected at the first PTA Association Meeting of the school year.  The PTA Board will present the proposed 2014-2015 budget and programs for membership approval.

6:00 - 7:30PM - Teacher Meet & Greet

Parents are invited to meet their child's teacher and learn what is planned in their classroom for the coming school year. 
To accommodate parent work schedules and siblings in multiple grade levels, all classes will have 2 repeated presentations.  Please choose to attend one of the following: 

 

Presentation #1 - 6:00-6:40pm   
Presentation #2 - 6:45-7:30pm

 

This is an adult only event.

School Hours
Just a quick reminder that our school hours are from 9:05am - 3:30pm on Mon, Tue, Thu and Fri. There is a minimum day on Wed from 9:05am - 1:15pm. View a more detailed daily schedule on the Holmes Web Site.

We need your help to ensure the safety of everyone entering and leaving the school campus each day. Remember OUR #1 priority is YOUR child's safety. Please read our traffic rules on the Holmes Web site and be sure to view the traffic flow map.  
 
Even if your children have been going to Holmes for years, you just might be surprised to learn something new!

We welcome school supply donations by parents in these tight budget times. Each grade level has composed a list of Back to School supplies that will enhance your child's learning experience. 
 
These supplies are not mandatory. We appreciate any and all donations!

Join Cub Scouts - Sept 11th
Cub Scouting Fun at every turn
Join Cub Scouts and take part in our fun Fall events! 

Cub Scouting offers boys a year-round, family-oriented program that is filled with character-building activities. Cub Scout Pack 299 invites all boys in 1st-5th Grades and their families to learn more about scouting at our first Pack meeting of the school year on Thursday, Sept 11th at 6:30pm in the Holmes Auditorium.
