Spirit Week - June 5th & 6th

There are two days left of Holmes SPIRIT Week! Prizes are given for participation in daily themed activities:

Hippie Thursday - Peace and Love!

Beach Day Friday (2:00-3:15pm) - The back lot is turned into a Beach! Bring your beach chairs & towels, beach toys, a bike, lock and helmet. Don't forget some snacks!

The backstops will have fun Stations:
~ Shell/Bead (make a bracelet or necklace)
~ Fishing (fish for a small treat)
~ Music (dance along with the tunes)
~ Squirt Stop (to get a refreshing spray of water)

Parents are welcome to participate too!

 

Music Class Open House - June 5th

Parents and family of K-4th Graders are invited to our Music Class Open House. Come see what your child has been learning in music class this year! 

Open Houses will be held by our music teacher, Kirk Valles, during regular music class times on Thursday, June 5th in Room 18. 

Choral Music is funded by the Holmes PTA for Grades K-4.

 

Join Cub Scouts - June 5th
Cub Scouting Fun at every turn
Join Cub Scouts now and take part in our fun summer activities! 

Cub Scouting offers boys a year-round, family-oriented program that is filled with character-building activities. Holmes Cub Scout Pack 299 invites all boys in K-4th Grades and their families to learn more about Scouting at our last Pack Meeting of the school year on Thursday, June 5th at 6:30pm in the Holmes Auditorium.

Holmes 2013-2014 Yearbooks were distributed this week to students who have pre-ordered them. If you would still like to purchase a yearbook, there are a limited number available for $30.00 each. 
 
If you are interested in buying one or if you ordered a yearbook and your child did not receive it, please email amy.lisson@holmespta.org.

 

Kinder Celebration of Learning - June 11th
Kinder Play Learn Grow
Kindergarten families and friends are invited to the Kindergarten Celebration of Learning on Wed, June 11th at 10am in the Auditorium. 

This Ceremony celebrates the Kinders' accomplishments this year and will be followed by a small Reception in the Kindergarten area.
 
5th & 6 Grade Promotions - June 12th & 13th

Families and friends of our 5th and 6th students are invited to join us for their Promotion Ceremonies in the Auditorium.

New Student Enrollment

New student enrollment for the 2014-2015 school year is now available. The hours for enrollment are Monday-Friday from 8:00am-1:30pm and again from 2:30-4:00pm through June 20th. 

Enrollment will be available again beginning on August 18th. 

 

Summer Garden Watering
 
We are looking for volunteers to water our school gardens over the summer. The schedule will be posted by Room 7. Please sign up for the dates you're available with your name and email (we need this to send you a confirmation and a reminder). Two people per day is optimal!

Watering times are ONLY Mon-Fri 7am-2pm. You must be off campus by 3:00pm as the gates will be locked.

The areas to be watered are:  
~ Kindergarten veggie boxes
~ 2nd grade courtyard boxes  
~ Monarch garden  
~ Library Garden 
~ Canyon Rim garden (1x at the end of June )

Lost & Found

Please be sure to check the Lost and Found next to Room 4 for clothing and items your child might be missing by June 13th. Everything will be donated to Goodwill over Summer Break. 
 
More valuable items such as jewelry and glasses have been turned in to the School Office.

Last Day of School
The last day of school is on Friday, June 13th. Please remember that there will be an early 1:15pm dismissal on this day.

Enjoy your summer vacation! School resumes on Tuesday, Sept 2nd.
