PTA Association Meeting - March 20th

Get connected at TONITE's PTA Association Meeting at 6pm in the Auditorium.

PTA members will elect the 2014-2015 PTA Board and adopt the mid-year audit. All PTA positions are elected annually and any PTA member is welcome to run for Office. Download the Nominating Committee's recommended candidates. Nominations from the floor will be accepted at the election.

Also at the meeting, special guest speaker, Tracie Arlington of Play It Safe, will share techniques on how to Bully-proof your kids. (See below for more info).

Free childcare will be available from the YMCA. No reservations are needed, but please bring a completed YMCA Medical Form for your child.

Anti-Bully Presentations - March 20 & 28

On March 28th, the PTA has arranged for Tracie Arlington of Play It Safe to teach her "bully-proof" techniques to our students at school-wide assemblies.

Come get a sneak peak of her presentation at the March 20th PTA Association Meeting. Learn about her "KEEP THE POWER: BE A WINNER" Anti-Bully Program and how you as parents can support her valuable bully-proof lessons at home. This is a great opportunity to have this important dialog about something near and dear to all of us - the safety and well-being of our kids!

March 28, 2014 6:00-9:30 pm

There will be a DJ, dancing, and a photo booth. Dessert and punch will be served and dinner will be available for purchase. Tickets are $4 if purchased by March 27th and $6 thereafter. RSVP by returning the Founder's Day Ticket Order Form with your payment to your child's teacher or the School Office.

Clairemont Day at the Bay - April 12th

Clairemont Day at the Bay will be on Saturday, April 12th at De Anza Cove from 7:30am - 3pm.

Holmes 1st - 4th graders have been invited to sing on stage at 12:45pm. Come support our school! If interested, please return the lower portion of the attached memo to Mr. Valles or the school Office by Monday, April 7th.

Student Recognition - March 21
Article Subheading Our next Student Recognition Assemblies will take place on: March 21st at 1:45pm - Grades K & 1 March 21st at 2:45pm - Grades 2 & 3 If your child is being recognized, we hope you can attend. Students take pleasure in sharing this time with their families. Honorees are encouraged to donate a refreshment for the reception that follows the assembly.

Dining for Dollars - March 24th
Article Subheading Treat your family to dinner out and support our school at the same time. Visit Islands Restaurant on Balboa Avenue on Monday, March 24th from 5:00-9:30pm Be sure to present the Islands Flyer and 20% of your check will be donated to our school.

Spring Break - March 31 to April 4
Article Subheading Spring Break begins on Monday, March 31st. School will resume on Monday, April 7th. Enjoy your week off!

Yearkbook Photos - Due April 11th
The 2013-2014 Holmes Yearbook is underway. The annual yearbook commemorates the school year and features all student class pictures as well as pictures from classroom and school events. We need your photos! Visit www.holmespta.org/yearbook.php to see how easy it is to submit them.

Variety Show Auditions - April 18th

Do you sing? Dance? Have a special talent? Then we want YOU for the Holmes Variety Show! Variety Show auditions will be held during school on Friday, April 18th. Audition forms will be available in the Office beginning Monday, April 7th and must be submitted by Wednesday, April 16th.
