H.E.R.O. Run Pledges - Due Feb 28th

H.E.R.O. Run Sponsor sheets and pledges are due Friday, Feb 28th.

Money raised will be put toward educational enrichment and physical education equipment. Prizes will be awarded for the top 3 students that raise the most money:

1st Prize - Xbox 360 Bundle with Kinect
2nd Prize - High End Custom Scooter
3rd Prize - iPod Shuffle

Seeking our Superstar Volunteers

Do you know someone who has diligently volunteered ABOVE and BEYOND and is a SUPERSTAR VOLUNTEER? Help us shine the spotlight on them at our PTA-sponsored "Night of Stars Founder's Day Dance" on March 28th.

Simply fill in the attached Superstar Ballot and tell us why you think this person is a Holmes SUPERSTAR. Please return ballots to the Office by March 5th. Thank you!

PTA Board Candidates Wanted

PTA WANTS YOU! The work of the 2014 Nominating Committee is underway! Jen Kennedy, Lyda Young, and Ivonne Ganss are seeking candidates for the 2014-2015 Holmes PTA Board. All Board positions are elected annually.

YOU can make a difference at your child's school! Learn about the different positions in the PTA and see where your interests and the various roles in the PTA come together. Download the PTA Interest Form and return in your child's folder or to the front office ASAP. Join the efforts to keep SUPERNESS and EXCITEMENT at Holmes Elementary!

Vision 20/20 Forum - March 3rd

The "Vision 20/20 Forums: What Kind of Schools Do We Want" series offer parents, staff, students, and community members an opportunity to give input to the superintendent and the board members on priorities for our students and schools.

What things are we doing that are working and need to continue?
What can we improve to reach the goals of Vision 20/20?
How can we all work together to accomplish these goals?

Spring Picture Day - March 3rd
Article Subheading All students will have their Spring portraits taken on Monday, March 3rd. No money is needed on picture day and there is no obligation to purchase portraits.

Western BBQ - March 5th

YEE-HAW! All students and teachers are invited to a

Western BBQ on Wed, March 5th during their regular lunch time. Lunch will be $2.50 (except for students who qualify for free and reduced lunch) and include hamburgers, hot dogs and veggie burgers with all the fixins'. Students are asked to sign up in advance. Please return the BBQ Flyer to your child's teacher.

We also need 6 parents to help serve students. Servers will receive a free lunch. Please contact Debbie Roberts in the office if you can help out at droberts2@sandi.net.

Spring Fling Planning Committee
The Spring Fling is rescheduled for Saturday, May 17th. We are looking for people interested in taking on a role in the Spring Fling planning committee. If you are interested or want more information, please contact Teresa King at: teresa.king@holmespta.org

Local Farmer's Market - Order by Friday

Welcome to an easy way to feed your family with fresh, organic produce!

Simply order online from Daily Harvest Market and sign up for weekly or bi-weekly deliveries. Your fresh produce will be delivered free of charge on Tuesdays after school. Order by Friday for the next Tuesday's delivery. Daily Harvest will even donate 5% of sales back to Holmes!

Yearbook Pictures Wanted
Article Subheading PTA is working on the 2013-2014 Holmes Yearbook. The annual yearbook commemorates the school year and features all student class pictures as well as pictures from classroom and school events. We need your photos!! Visit www.holmespta.org/yearbook.php to learn how easy it is to submit them.

Clairemont Day at the Bay - April 12th

Clairemont Day at the Bay will be on Saturday, April 12th. In addition to the Fast Times 5K, another race has been added where schools in San Diego county can compete for the Fasttimes5K legacy trophies. Elementary school students will compete for the Paul Greer 1000 legacy trophy. They will run a 1000 m or 1 km and the entree fee will be $10 per student.
