Halloween Parade - Oct 31st
Halloween Parade Article Subheading
Our Annual Halloween Parade will be on Thursday, Oct 31st starting at 2:00pm on the lower grade playground. Students will parade one class at time to Halloween music. Parents are encouraged to participate in the Halloween spirit and wear costumes. 

Students can wear their costumes to school or bring them and change at lunchtime. Please no weapons, blood, or gory costumes!

 

Mileage Club Halloween Run - Oct 31st
Article Subheading
Join us at Mileage Club on Thursday, Oct 31st at 8:40am for a Halloween Run! Buy a commemorative 'Pumpkin' token for your little Ghost(s) for only $1.00. Tokens will be sold before and during Mileage Club. Please bring exact change. 

Proceeds will be used to support Mileage Club and other PTA activities. To learn more about Mileage Club, visit the Mileage Club web page.

 

Family Friday - Nov 1st

Parents are invited to meet with Principal, Jonathan Saipe, in the Holmes Auditorium on the first Friday of every month from 9:10-9:45am. Come get updates about district and school news this Friday, Nov 1st. 

From 9:45-10:10am parents are invited to their child's classroom to read or participate in a learning activity. The Holmes PTA will provide coffee and donuts.

November 1st is the LAST DAY of our PTA Membership Drive! Joining PTA gives you a VOICE and a VOTE on school issues and "App" spending.

Just a friendly reminder to turn your clock back one hour before going to bed on Saturday night.  

Daylight Savings Time ends on November 3rd.

 

Student Recognition Assemblies - Nov 4th & 8th

The first of our Student Recognition Assemblies will take place next week:

Nov 4th at 2:30pm - Grades 4/5/6
Nov 8th at 1:45pm - Grades K & 1
Nov 8th at 2:45pm - Grades 2 & 3

If your child is being recognized, we hope you can attend. Students take pleasure in sharing this time with their families. Honorees are encouraged to donate a refreshment for the reception that follows the assembly.
 

 

Student Council Elections - Nov  5th
Student Council

 

Elections for Student Council Classroom Representatives will take place in 3rd through 6th grade classrooms on November 5th.

The first Student Council Meeting will be held on November 7th at 12:55pm in Room 4. Our first venture will be the Holiday Food Drive.  The Student Council will elect the officers from the elected Classroom Representatives in early December.

Every Friday is Holmes Spirit Day! Show your school spirit by wearing your Holmes T-Shirts or Sweatshirts to school on Fridays or at any school event. To order Spirt Wear, download and return the Order Form to the Office by Friday, Nov 8th.

Veteran's Day - No School - Nov 11th

Reminder that there is no school on Monday, Nov 11th in observance of Veteran's Day -- a day to honor and thank military personnel who have served our country.

Treat your family to dinner out and support our school at the same time. Visit Islands on Balboa Avenue on Tuesday, Oct 12th from 5:00-9:30pm

Be sure to present the Islands Flyer and 20% of your check will be donated to our school.

We have quite a collection of lost items piling up in the Lost & Found. Please be sure to check for clothing and other items your child might be missing in the Lost and Found located next to Room 4.
