Mileage Club began on Tuesday, but it's never too late to join! Meet us every Tuesday & Thursday at 8:40-8:55am at the dirt lot behind the school. It's a fun way to stay healthy, meet with your friends, and wake up your brain for the school day.

Friday, Oct 11th is the first Box Top collection deadline. Be sure to clip those Box Tops (carefully along the dotted lines) and turn them into your child's teacher. Every Box Top you collect is worth 10 cents to our school. 

The top 3 classes to turn in the most Box Tops at the end of the year will receive a Class Party.  Halloween Helpers are Batty for Box Tops!  Download and return this fun Box Top Collection Worksheet.

Come learn about the traditions of So. Californian Native Americans, the Kumeyaay, at Baskets & Botany. This free family event takes place at the Tecolote Nature Center on Oct 12th from 10am-4pm.  Activities include: basket weaving and tribal song presentations, a Sky Hunters Raptor presentation, an ethnobotany walk, kids crafts and so much more! Parents are invited to attend the following Community of Schools Cluster meetings next week. The goal of these groups is to strengthen our community and build attendance at our schools by Clairemont neighborhood families.

Mark your calendar and schedule those haircuts!  Our Fall School Picture Day for students is on Monday, Oct 21st. Picture make-up day will be on Oct 28th for students who are absent.

PTA needs your help!  The Halloween Carnival on Saturday, Oct 26th is an annual tradition and a lot fun for our students and the community. Please sign up to volunteer one hour in your student's game booth. The first three classes to get enough volunteers for their booth will win a popsicle party and get the opportunity to pick their own game booth.  

The Carnival Committee is looking for volunteers to grill hot dogs, build games and a haunted house and to help with set-up and break down. Dads, grandpas, uncles, etc. are needed too! If you can help, please contact Mylende Liseski at mylende.liseski@holmespta.org.

The Holmes PTA brings parents, teachers, staff, and community members together for the improvement of our children's academic achievement and educational experience. Joining PTA gives you a VOICE and a VOTE on school issues and "App" spending.
