| Spirit Week - June 3rd-7th | | Article Subheading
There are only two days left of Holmes SPIRIT Week! Prizes are given for participation in daily themed activities sponsored by the Holmes Student Council.
Sports Thursday - Wear your favorite sportswear.
Beach Day Friday (1:30 - 3:00) - Bring your beach chairs, beach toys, towels and snacks! Bicycles and helmets are also okay. Parents are welcome to join in! Download the Beach Day Flyer for more info.

| Join Cub Scouts - June 6th | | Article SubheadingJoin Cub Scouts now and take part in our fun summer activities!
Cub Scouting offers boys a year-round, family-oriented program that is filled with character-building activities. Holmes Cub Scout Pack 299 invites all boys in K-4th Grades and their families to learn more about scouting at our last Pack meeting of the school year on Thursday, June 6th at 6:30pm in the Holmes Auditorium.

| Family Friday - June 7th | | Article SubheadingThe last Family Friday of the year will be on Friday, June 7th. Parents are invited to meet with Principal, Jonathan Saipe, in the Auditorium at 9:10-9:45am. Come get updates about district and school news. From 9:45-10:15am parents are invited to their child's classroom to read or participate in a learning activity. The Holmes PTA will provide Starbucks Coffee. |
| Friends of Tecolote Canyon - June 8th | | Article SubheadingJoin Friends of Tecolote Canyon for a Family Day at Tecolote Nature Center. This free event is on Saturday, June 8th from 9am-12pm and is located at 5180 Tecolote Road. Come see live snakes, take a nature walk, dissect an owl pellet, and more! | Kinder Celebration of Learning - June 10th | | Article SubheadingKindergarten families and friends are invited to the Celebration of Learning on Monday, June 10th at 10am in the Auditorium. This Ceremony celebrates the Kinders' accomplishments this year and will be followed by a small Reception in the Kindergarten area. |
| GATE Parent Meeting - June 10th | | Article SubheadingParents of GATE students are invited to attend an informational meeting on June 10th at 6:00 - 7:00pm in the Auditorium. Come learn about SDUSD goals for the GATE program and how this program is implemented at Holmes. This meeting is especially important if you have a newly identified 2nd Grade GATE student. |

The PTA thanks you for clipping Box Tops for our school! We raised a total of $2,568.83 for this school year. The classes who earned a Popcorn & Juice Party by turning in the most Box Tops are:

| Mileage Club - 6,714 Miles Run! | | |
Article Subheading
We had another successful year in Mileage Club. Over 200 students ran for a total of 6,714 miles! This surpassed our goal of reaching Tokyo, Japan (5,577 miles).
Great Job, Runners!!!! Thank you to all of our volunteers who counted those laps! Without you, we couldn't have "run" Mil eage Club. Download the list of this year's top runners.

| Lost & Found | | Article SubheadingPlease be sure to check the Lost and Found next to Room 4 for clothing and items your child might be missing by June 11th. Everything will be donated to Goodwill over Summer Break. More valuable items such as jewelry and glasses have been turned in to the School Office.

Summer Garden Watering

We are looking for volunteers to water our school gardens over the summer. The schedule will be posted by Room 7. Please sign up for the dates you're available with your name and email (we need this to send you a confirmation and a reminder). Two people per day is optimal!
Watering times are ONLY Mon-Fri 7am-2pm. You must be off campus by 3:00pm as the gates will be locked.
The areas to be watered are:
~ Kindergarten, 1st grade Native Garden
~ 2nd grade courtyard boxes
~ Monarch garden
~ Library Garden
