| What's for Dinner on Thursday?! | |  Article SubheadingNeed a plan for dinner on Thursday night? With so many events planned at the school, the PTA has arranged for a dinner option for families. Tony's Tacos will be selling tacos and shaved ice on campus. Drinks will also be sold by the PTA. We look forward to seeing you and your family on Thursday evening! |
| Silent Auction - May 23rd | |  Article SubheadingVisit the Holmes Cafeteria from 3:30 - 8:00pm on Thursday, May 23rd and bid on our Silent Auction. We have lots of fabulous items to auction off including 2 four day passes to Comic-Con! (This event is sold out.)

| Raffle Baskets - May 23rd | |  Article SubheadingWe have 5 great Baskets to Raffle off this year including one with an iPad Mini! Raffle tickets will be sold after school on Thursday, May 23rd from 3:30 - 7:30pm. Ticket prices are $1 each, 6 for $5 and 25 for $20. Raffle Basket Winners will be announced on Thursday evening beginning at 7:30pm. Preview the list of Raffle Basket items. |

Spring Book Fair - May 23rd
| |  Thursday, May 23rd is the last day to visit the Scholastic Book Fair in the Holmes Auditorium. The Book Fair is a great way to get your children excited about reading! The Book Fair will be open for students to purchase books during recess, lunch, and after school from 3:30pm - 8:00pm. |

Come and get connected at our last PTA Association Meeting of the year in the Holmes Library at 5:00 - 5:30pm. (Please note the new location). Come get updates on the PTA Budget and the new Board for next year.

Spring Open House - May 23rd

Be sure to visit your child's classroom during our Spring Open House from 5:30 - 7:00pm. This is your chance to see what your child has been working on in school, to chat with your child's teacher and to visit with other Holmes families. |
| Memorial Day - May 27th | |  Article SubheadingThere will be NO SCHOOL on Memorial Day - Monday, May 27th as we honor the men and women who died serving our country. School will resume on Tuesday, May 28th.

| Music Class Open House - May 28th & 30th | |  Article SubheadingParents and family of K-4th Graders are invited to our Music Class Open House. Come see what your child has been learning in music class this year and meet our new music teacher, Kirk Valles. Open Houses will be held during regular music class times on Tuesday, May 28th and Thursday May 30th in Room 18 (YMCA room). Choral Music is funded by the Holmes PTA for grades K-4. |

Family Science Night will be on
Wednesday, May 29th at 6:30 - 8:00pm in the Holmes Auditorium. This hands on event, "Beyond the Magic", is put on by the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center. This is a free event, sponsored by Holmes PTA. Space is limited - first come, first served. To register return the Science Night Flyer to your child's teacher.

| Variety Show - May 31st | |  Article SubheadingOur annual Variety Show will be held on Friday, May 31st. There will be a day performance for students and an evening show for parents at 6:00pm in the Auditorium. Come see students show off their individual talents from singing and dancing to playing instruments and acting. |

Hawkeye Deadline - May 31st
| |  We are currently accepting submissions for inclusion in the last issue of our school Hawkeye Newsletter. If you have interesting school news or a community event to share with Holmes families, please submit it to our Hawkeye editor, Janette Gradyan at jgradyan@san.rr.com. Articles should be in a Word document and submitted no later than May 31st. We appreciate your contributions to the Hawkeye! |
