| Holmes Hawk Spring Donation Drive | |  Article SubheadingPlease support the Holmes Hawk Spring Donation Drive! To date we have raised only $1,100 toward our $15,000 goal. These essential funds provide student enrichment activities including Choral Music, Technology, Arts Attack, Mileage Club, Field Trips, Classroom support and much more. Without this funding, programs will need to be cut. through April 12th. |

Campus Beautification - March 9th
| |  Article SubheadingAll students, staff, and community members are invited to participate in a Campus Beautification Project taking place at Holmes Elementary on March 9th from 9am - 12pm. We will be working on garden development projects, spreading mulch and clearing brush in anticipation of our new Canyon Classroom project. There will also be general campus clean up and trash removal. Be prepared to get dirty and bring your work gloves, a shovel and your school spirit! Wheelbarrows are also needed. Let's get to work! |
| Dining for Dollars - March 9th | |  Article SubheadingTreat your family to lunch or dinner while supporting our school. Visit Rubio's (The Home of the Original Fish Taco) in Kearny Mesa on Saturday, March 9th from 11am to 9pm. Dine in, order food To Go or pick up a Rubio's a-Go-Go Catering order.

| Spelling Bees - March 8th & 11th | |  Article SubheadingThe Classroom Spelling Bees have been completed for Grades 1 through 6. The classroom winners will compete in the Grade Level Bees in the auditorium on: Friday, March 8th Grade 2 @ 9:30am Grade 6 @ 11:20am Grade 4 @ 1:30pm Monday, March 11th Grade 1 @ 9:30am Grade 5 @ 11:20am Grade 3 @ 1:30pm Congratulations to all of the Classroom Winners!

| Daylight Savings - March 11th | |  Article SubheadingDon't forget to turn your clocks forward by one hour on Saturday night. Daylight Savings starts on Sunday, March 11th at 2am. Although we'll lose an hour of sleep, we'll have more daylight in the evening.

| Parent/Teacher Conferences - March 13-15th | |  Article SubheadingThere will be an early 1:15pm dismissal on Thursday, March 14th and on Friday, March 15th due to Parent/Teacher Conferences. Please plan to have your child picked up on time.

Mileage Club Shamrock Run - March 14th
| |  Join us on Thursday, March 14th at Mileage Club for our 1st Shamrock Run! Buy a commemorative 'Shamrock' token for your little Leprechaun(s) for only $1.00 each. Tokens will be sold before, during and after Mileage Club. Please bring exact change. Proceeds will be used to support Mileage Club and other PTA activities. | PTA Association Meeting - March 21st | |  Article SubheadingThe next PTA Association Meeting will be on Thursday, March 21st at 6pm in the Holmes Auditorium. PTA members are invited to come elect the 2013-2014 PTA Board. Download the Nominating Committee's recommended candidates. PTA members will also be asked to adopt the mid-year audit at this meeting.

| HERO Run - March 28th | |  Article Subheading
Our 7th Annual HERO Run will take place on Thursday, March 28th beginning at 1:30pm. We will need classroom volunteers to help count laps. Room parents should be contacting you soon for sign ups.
