| Nominating Committee - Jan 24th | |  Article Subheading
You can have a tremendous impact on the future of our PTA by being on the Nominating Committee! PTA members will elect a new Nominating Committee at the January 24th PTA Assn meeting. This committee selects the best-qualified people to fill the elected PTA Board positions for 2013-2014.
Three members and 2 alternates make up the committee. All candidates must be PTA members. If interested, please contact the PTA Parliamentarian, Arlyn Engebretson at arlyn.engebretson@holmespta.org.

| School Tour - Jan 25th | |  Article SubheadingThere will be School Tours on Friday, January 25th and Friday, February 8th for families interested in attending Holmes. The tours will begin with an orientation in the Auditorium at 9:00am followed by visits to the classrooms. |

| Holmes Yearbook - Request for Photos | |  Article Subheading
The yearbook team is working on the 2012-2013 yearbook. We need your help in uploading pictures to the yearbook website. Please submit any grade level/classroom pictures that you have taken for the 2012-2013 school year (class parties, field trips, or any other Holmes related event).
If you have uploaded pictures in previous years, your login information is already saved on the website:

Click on "Images"
On the left hand side, you will see a list of folders by teacher name. Please upload your photos into your child's class folder. (Please note that when using cell phone pictures, the picture needs to be a resolution of at least 300 dpi or 1200 x 1800 ppi.)

| Spelling Bee - Volunteers Needed! | |  Article SubheadingSpelling Bee lists have been distributed to all students in 1st - 6th Grade. Teachers will schedule their Classroom Spelling Bees prior to February 22nd. Mark your calendar for the Grade Level Spelling Bees on March 8th (Grades 2, 4 & 6) and on March 11th (Grades 1, 3 & 5). | HERO Run - Sponsors Needed! | |  Article Subheading
The Holmes PTA will host its 7th Annual HERO Run on March 28, 2013. To learn more about how you can participate in this premier community event that promotes fitness, wellness and active families, please visit the HERO Run Web Page at www.holmespta.org/hero_run.

| PYSL Soccer Registration - Jan 26th | |  Article SubheadingBoys and girls in K-4th Grade are invited to play soccer with the Pacific Youth Soccer League (PYSL). Registration for the Spring season is on Saturday, January 26th from 9am-3pm at Bob McEvoy Youth Fields. The season runs March 10th - May 5th and games are played on Sundays. To register, download and return the PYSL Registration Form on Saturday. |
| Tri Mathlon - Feb 22nd | |  Article SubheadingThe Clairemont Community of Schools and Mathnasium Point Loma invites all 3rd-6th graders in the Clairemont cluster to join them for the 2nd Annual Tri Mathlon Challenge on Friday, February 22nd.
