Annual Food Drive - Begins Nov 28th
Food Drive Article Subheading
Get in the holiday spirit of giving by bringing your canned or dry boxed goods to your child's classroom between November 28th and December 11th.  Our annual food drive is sponsored by the Holmes Student Council and will benefit the Salvation Army in Clairemont. Thank you for your donations!

 

Free Movie Night - Nov 30th
Madagascar 3 Article Subheading
Bring your blankets, low chairs and friends for a FREE movie night in the Holmes Auditorium on Friday, November 30th. Hot dogs, chips, candy, popcorn and drinks (including Jamba Juice), will be available for purchase. 

The movie will be Madagascar 3 and will start at 6:30pm.  We look forward to seeing you there!

 

BOGO Book Fair - Nov 30th

Get a jump on your holiday shopping! Come to our Buy One, Get One FREE Book Fair on Friday, November 30th.
 
Held in conjunction with Movie Night, this mini Book Fair will take place in Room 19 from 3:00pm - 8:30pm for one day only!
 
Jamba Juice Fundraiser - Nov 30th

Back by popular demand, the Holmes PTA will be selling Jamba Juice during Movie Night on Friday, November 30th. Two flavors will be offered in 8 oz sizes: Strawberry-Banana and Mega Mango. The cost is only $2 and 20% of all proceeds go back to the school. 

Mileage Club Token Day - Dec 6th
Mileage Club Article Subheading
Mileage Club has been "running" for 8 weeks. More than 130 runners (and walkers) have helped us achieve over 1,900 miles so far! Students are rewarded with tokens at different milestones throughout the year. 
 
Tokens are given out on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month between 8:20-8:40am.  Mark your calendars for the next token day: Thursday, Dec 6th. For more information on joining Mileage Club, visit the Holmes Mileage Club Web PageView our Track My Laps Web Site to see your child(ren)'s progress.
 
Family Friday - Dec 7th

Parents are invited to meet with Principal, Jonathan Saipe, in the Holmes auditorium on Friday, December 7th from 9:10-9:45am. Come get updates about district and school news, learn a simple yet effective reading strategy, and have an opportunity to share ideas on how to make Holmes an even better school.

From 9:45-10:15am parents can go to their child's classroom to read or participate in a learning activity. Starbucks Coffee will be provided by the Holmes PTA.

 

Recycling Contest - Ends Dec 7th

We're collecting more than used ink cartridges and cell phones this year. Please send those items in, as well as, video games/systems, DVD movies, old laptops, digital cameras, GPS systems and iPods.  We're collecting it all!  Be sure to mark your items with your child's room number.  The contest ends on December 7th.  The winning class will receive a $50 check to spend as it chooses.
 
Dining for Dollars - Dec 12th
Chili's Logo Article Subheading
Treat your family to lunch or dinner while supporting our school at the same time. Visit Chili's in Clairemont Square on Wednesday, December 12th from 11am - 10:30pm. 

You can Dine in or Take it To Go!  Please be sure to present the Chili's Flyer and 15% of your check will be donated back to Holmes.

 

Holiday Showcase - Dec 12th

Clairemont High School invites you to their Holiday Showcase - a free family event on Wednesday, December 12th from
5:30-7:00pm.

The Holmes PTA is looking for a volunteer to help coordinate our ongoing fundraising programs. These activities include: Dining for Dollars, eScrip and Target Take Charge of Education.
