Family Friday - Nov 2nd

Parents are invited to meet with Principal, Jonathan Saipe, in the auditorium on Friday, Nov 2nd from 9:10-9:45am.
 Come get updates about district and school news, learn a simple yet effective reading strategy, and have an opportunity to share ideas on how to make Holmes an even better school. From 9:45-10:15am parents can go to their child's classroom to read or participate in a learning activity. Starbucks Coffee will be provided by the Holmes PTA. |

 SubheadingAll students have had their school pictures taken and proofs have been sent home. Picture orders are due by Friday, Nov 2nd. Please note that the pose on the far left of the proof sheet is used in the yearbook unless you specify otherwise on your order form. | Recycling Contest - Begins Nov 5th | |
 Article SubheadingWe're collecting more than used ink cartridges and cell phones this year. Please send those items in, as well as, video games/systems, DVD movies, old laptops, digital cameras, GPS systems and iPods. We're collecting it all! Be sure to mark your items with your child's room number. The contest runs November 5th through December 7th. The winning class will receive a $50 check to spend as it chooses. |

| Student Council Elections - Nov 6th | |
 Article SubheadingElections for Student Council Classroom Representatives will take place in 3rd through 6th grade classrooms on November 6th. The first Student Council meeting will be held on November 8th at 12:55pm in Room 4. The Student Council will elect the officers from the elected Classroom Representatives on November 29th. |

Have you checked out the Lost & Found lately? Valuable items such as jewelry, watches, glasses, sunglasses, phones or other small items, have been turned in to the Office Lost & Found. Please stop by the Office between 8:30am - 4:00pm or call (858) 496-8110 to retrieve them.
Students' clothing, backpacks and lunch items that have been left behind can be found in the Lost & Found in the lunch courtyard area. |
