School Make up Picture Day - Oct 25th

Was your child absent on picture day last week?  If so, his/her picture will be taken in school today, Thursday, October 25th. Proofs from pictures taken last week will be coming soon.

 

Red Ribbon Week Spirit Day - Oct 26th

This week is Ribbon Week and is dedicated to drug education, awareness, and prevention. Show your spirit on Friday, Oct 26th with a "Red-to-Toe!" or "OMGreen!" dress theme. Wear as much red or green as possible-including hair, shoes, backpacks, etc. 
 

Our theme is Stop-Think-Go

- Stop before making a bad choice

- Think about making the best choices

- Go with making good, healthy choices

 

Clairemont High School drama students will perform in assemblies on Friday, October 26th to reinforce this theme.

  Halloween Carnival - Saturday, Oct 27th

The Halloween Carnival is this Saturday, October 27th from 11am-4pm. There

will be plenty of games, prizes, crafts, food and FUN!

 

Discounted pre-sale tickets will be available before and after school on Wed., Thurs., and Fri. of this week. Tickets will also be available on the day of the Carnival.  Be sure to download the Carnival flyer for more information on this SPOOKTACULAR event!

   

Halloween Carnival - Volunteers Needed!

FINAL WEEK OF PLANNING FOR THE HOLMES HALLOWEEN CARNIVAL! PARENT VOLUNTEERS ARE DESPERATELY NEEDED!!

 

Please sign up at your child's classroom or return the orange sign-up sheet that was sent home to work a 1.25 hr shift at the Carnival or e-mail kcrc@san.rr.com. Without parent volunteers to help run game booths, there will be fewer games for the children to enjoy. Thank you to all the wonderful volunteers who have already signed up to help.

 
Halloween Cake Walk Bakers Needed

Calling all Bakers!  We NEED cakes, cupcakes, cookies or any other baked treat to be given as prizes for our Halloween Carnival CAKEWALK!  **Does not need to be homemade** Please bring all baked goods in a non-
returnable container to the auditorium any time from 8:00AM TO 9:00PM ON FRIDAY, OCTOBER 26TH or SATURDAY, OCTOBER 27TH, NO LATER THAN 8:00AM.

Halloween Parade - Oct 31t

Our Annual Halloween Parade will be on Wednesday, October 31st starting at 10:00am on the lower playground. Students will parade one class at

time to Halloween music. Parents are encouraged to participate in the Halloween spirit and wear costumes. Students should wear their costumes to school and bring a change of clothes. Please no weapons, blood, or gory costumes!

 

PTA Membership Drive - Ends Oct 31st

We need your support.  Join PTA now!  It's only $10.50 to gain a voice for your child and have a right to vote on any PTA action. We currently have 246 members.  Help us reach our goal of 365 members by October 31st.  Invite spouses, grandparents and

Family Friday - Nov 2nd

Parents are invited to meet with Principal, Jonathan Saipe, in the auditorium on Friday, Nov 2nd from 9:10-9:45am.

Come get updates about district and school news, learn a simple yet effective reading strategy, and have an 
opportunity to share ideas on how to 
make Holmes an even better school.   
 
From 9:45-10:15am parents will go to their child's classroom to read or participate in a learning activity. Starbucks Coffee will be provided by the Holmes PTA.

Election Day is on November 6th.  Please be sure to vote! Lost & Found

Have you checked out the Lost & Found lately? Valuable items such as jewelry, watches, glasses, sunglasses, phones or other small items, have been turned in to the Office Lost & Found. Please stop by the Office between 8:30am - 4:00pm or call (858) 496-8110 to retrieve them.

Students' clothing, backpacks and lunch items that have been left behind can be found in the Lost & Found in the lunch courtyard area.
