NAR Board Meeting Recap
At the recent meeting in San Francisco, where over 22,000 members attended, including around 75 from Kentucky, the NAR Board of Directors unanimously approved an ambitious project to be undertaken with a major partner that would turn the association's headquarters into a world-class property that is intended to become the next destination building in the iconic Chicago skyline. NAR announced priority registration for the new .REALTOR top level domain at the 2013 REALTORS® Conference & Expo in San Francisco. We encourage you to sign-up now to receive advance notification to claim your .REALTOR domain as soon as it becomes available. The hope is to have this ready by Q1 2014. McDonald reappointed to KHC Board
Ann McDonald, a Winchester real estate broker and KAR past president, was reappointed by Governor Beshear to serve on the Board for the Kentucky Housing Corporation. Her term runs through October 30, 2017.

License plate for KY REALTORS - promote your industry
KAR received approval from the state to produce an official KY specialty license plate. To start production, KAR needs to have 900 applications and fees collected. This is your chance to show off your REALTOR pride and support the real estate industry. Median price 2013: $104,675
Median price 2012: $117,750
% change: -11%

Home sales are up 18.3% YTD 2013 vs 2012 and median prices are running about even for the same period.

Pocket listings: NAR work group discusses issue
At the request of the NAR Multiple Listing Issues and Policies Committee and the NAR Professional Standards Committee, an informal working group of both committees met in Chicago in September following the meeting of the Interpretations and Procedures Advisory Board.

The working group was convened to consider issues and concerns that cooperation between REALTORS® as historically mandated in the Code of Ethics was in decline, including the practices informally referred to as "pocket listings" and "coming soon" marketing techniques. Read More
