API Prayer Connection - August Prayer Focus: Urban Youth of Kolkata

This month we are praying for the Urban Youth of Kolkata, India. As you may know, God has been moving powerfully through our efforts to disciple Urban Youth in New Delhi since 2010. We are now excited to be expanding the Urban Youth ministry to Kolkata. This is a new initiative that needs to be covered in prayer!
Please pray for the following:

Pray for the millions of unreached Urban Youth living in Kolkata.
Pray for Bengali leaders to be raised up to lead the ministry.
Pray against the strongholds of false gods and Hinduism in Kolkata.
Pray for opportunities to build trusting relationships.
Pray that our team would sense a clear direction and strategy for outreach.
Pray for God to lead us to many men and women of peace that can be discipled and trained to reach their peers.
Pray for favor with universities and business people as we seek access to this segment of society.
Pray for partners that will GO, SEND, PRAY, and GIVE to the Kolkata Urban Youth Ministry.

Mission Trip Team - July 11-23

Thanks for your prayers! The team had an incredible trip. No sickness, no travel delays...just a great time sharing with our friends in India. God is good!

The Unreached

India has the largest number of unreached peoples in the world. Less than 5% of their 1.2 billion people are followers of Jesus.

Pray for the unreached & unengaged - those that have no access to the Gospel.
Pray for more 'workers' to be sent into the fields - many of which will come out of the harvest. (Lk 10)

Frontline Leaders:

Pray for our team of 'native missionaries' as they make Christ known among their own people. Pray for strength, endurance, and favor to be on all of our staff on the ground in India.

Victor John - his role as leader, trainer, mentor, vision multiplier, fund-raiser, & ministry developer. Pray the Lord will give him wisdom, anointing and strength. Pray for his family - wife and 3 daughters. Pray for good health and safety as he travels internationally.
Support Staff - Pray for the many support staff and local leaders in India that make daily sacrifices to make Christ known among their own people. Pray for their families, their ministry responsibilities, and protection from the opposition. We are blessed to have a great team of leaders!
Pray for continued strength and protection so these men and women will endure the persecution and hardships they face.

Railway Kids:

India is home to the world's largest population of street children. Millions of kids have been kicked out and abandoned by their families in railway stations across the country.

Pray for the un-rescued children as they endure extremely harsh living conditions. (poverty, abuse, hunger, addiction, loneliness, ect)
Pray for the children that have been rescued from life on the railway platforms and are now living in one of our Rescue Centers. Pray that these children would grow to be men and women of God as they have now received HOPE and a chance at a bright FUTURE.

Pray for new partners that will Pray, Give, and Go.
Pray for a growing heart for Christ to be known among the nations.
