Events in and around Beaufort

Billy Keyserling

If there was ever a time to learn about exploration of off shore oil and gas, the time is NOW!

Learn why big oil is making such a big fuss about what our State Government says are very small amounts of oil and gas off our pristine coast.

Hear what reputable conservationists have to say about the prospect of seismic testing and drilling.

Ask about the potential or real threats to marine life and the areas as far as 25 miles in land from the coast?

Ask why the public will be kept in the dark
about the testing results?

January 29
Special Panel Discussion on Off Shore Energy Exploration
5:30 pm
Technical College of the Lowcountry Auditorium
921 Ribaut Rd, Building 12

The Greater Beaufort Chamber of Commerce has invited the public to a special presentation with industry and environmental experts who will discuss off-shore energy exploration.  Natural gas and oil could be off the South Carolina coast line.  What could this mean for the South Carolina economy and environment?

Bringing in the New Year in Square

We had hoped to spend New Years Eve in the Main Square, but decided the crowds would be too large, we might get lost and perhaps it would not be safe. Instead we went there New Years Day which was festive. As the sun set, we were told that it was going to snow so we waited around at a 7:30 on the dot artificial snow fell from the airs for about fifteen minutes and was a treat for all since it was about 70 degrees. Also of interest were people dressed in costumes waiting on the streets to have their photos taken with children many of whom were travelling on daddy's shoulders. Note the extensively decorated buildings around the square.

One could have spent a week, and still not have seen the hundreds of thousands of Treasures in the Anthropology Museum. Photos were not permitted so I could only sneak a few.
