SpringRain Chickens
Got eggs?? You're going to need them for your famous quiche, deviled eggs and potato salad that you are planning on taking to the next barbeque you're invited to. SpringRain has eggs on sale this week; 2 dozen for $9. They are certified organic and since the chickens are eating lots of lush spring grass, the yolks are a deep orange color; the flavor intense! SpringRain raises a wide range of heritage breeds including White Plymouths, New Hampshires, Barred Rocks, and Rhode Island Reds. Don't miss out on this great price!

Christie Johnston will have salad mix on sale this week for $9/pound. A pound of salad mix is a lot of salad so this is a great deal! She'll also have pea shoots, bags of kale, fresh herbs and the last of the fingerling potatoes. Of course you already know you can find gorgeous heads of lettuce there as well.

Amie's Garden is going to be featuring red, white and blue petunias planted in patriotic hats for Memorial Day. If you visit a deceased loved one on Memorial Day, this would be a bright, colorful arrangement to leave at the grave site. Even if you don't have someone you lost these are really charming for display on your own patio. She will also have hanging baskets of fuchsias and begonias that are just starting to bust out in blooms. Check it out!

Sunbonnet Sue Quilt Club joins us again this Saturday selling raffle tickets for a chance at winning a large, beautiful quilt hand made by the gals in the club. They do a lot of good work in the community so give 'em a hand and get a few tickets. Just $1 each!

North Olympic Library System folks are joining us this weekend as well. They want to promote all things "library". Did you know you can check out Kindle books as well as audible books online through our library. That's right! I've done it and the system works great! Welcome NOLS!

Don't forget the summer Wednesday Market starts June 19th and runs from 10am-2pm just like Saturdays. Save the date to your calendar and tell your friends!

Juan de Fuca Festival of the Arts is on once again for this weekend as it is every Memorial Day weekend. They feature tons of live music and other great events throughout the three day weekend starting with the pre-festival kick-off tonight at 7:30 at the Vern Burton. The kick-off  event is free! The full on festival starts tomorrow, Friday the 24th. See you there!
