SpringRain Farm and Orchard
This past Saturday we held our 3rd annual Decadent Dessert Auction fundraiser and rhubarb was the star! We had a total of 4 rhubarb pies and they were quickly bought up by those participating in the live auction. Rhubarb is always a hot item this time of year and like other favorites, such as asparagus, it has a relatively short season so you have to enjoy it while you can. SpringRain Farm has had beautiful rhubarb for the last few weeks and will have a lot again this week so stock up all you rhubarb lovers!
Thank you so much to everyone who participated in our auction and/or donated desserts. We really appreciate all the help and support we get from our great customers and friends!Nash's has tender and sweet spinach, the first of the season, on sale for $2.25/bunch. Devon says this is probably the last week for cauliflower and leeks and be on the lookout for the first of the season arugula. They will have recipes for zesty chicken spinach casserole and gluten free cauliflower crust pizza available at the trailer check-out. Enjoy!
Serenity House joins us this Saturday for their annual soup bowl fundraiser. They bring down hand thrown soup bowls made by students from the ceramics class at PA High School and sell them to raise money for all the good things that Serenity House does in the community. These bowls have been really beautiful in the past and they go fast so you'll want to stop by their booth early to pick one (or two) up.
Also joining us this weekend will be the Sunbonnet Sue Quilters selling raffle tickets to win a wonderful, hand made quilt. Proceeds from the raffle enable the club to finance their educational and community service projects. Clallam County Hospice, First Step Family Services, Habitat for Humanity and Sarge's Place are just a few of the organizations that have received quilts. Tickets are only $1. Heck, buy $5 worth and really increase your chances of winning this gorgeous quilt!
Our two token winners the past two weeks have been Rainey McKenna and Robin Bookter! Congrats on winning a $10 market token!
My apologies to everyone who was turned away from getting tokens last weekend! We had a major malfunction of our card swiping machine and it was inoperable. The company is sending us a new machine however it most likely won't arrive before this Saturday. Not to worry! We will have a manual "knuckle buster" imprint machine available for credit/debit and EBT. Be aware though that this is the old fashioned way of using a credit card (which many of us remember) and it is more time consuming than just swiping in the modern machine so I ask your patience if you are in line waiting for your tokens.
