Nash's Organic Produce...and apparel!

Have you checked out Nash's cool apparel yet? Gorgeous. This week Nash's will have
chard on sale for $2.50 a bunch! You can find a recipe to go with that chard at check stand. You'll want to get to market early and snatch up a bit of cauliflower as well as fresh frozen
strawberries (1.5#) and raspberries (0.75#) picked in their prime and sent straight to the freezer.  A little taste of summer for these dreary (did she say dreary?) spring days, pop 'em in your smoothie, pancakes, muffins, or topping for your midnight ice cream snack! $6 per package.

Christie Johnston is showing up this week with the season's first showing of butterhead lettuce and bunches of fresh tarragon. She will also have fresh nettles for you nettle lovers out there. They have been a hot item this spring season so if you want them I would suggest you arrive early.

We have a new vendor joining us this week. Well new probably isn't the right word for his status at the Market. Andrew McInnes has been an active volunteer at the Market for quite some time now and joined the Board of Directors as well. He will be opening his Port Angeles Coffee Roasting Co. booth this weekend offering fresh roasted coffee and fresh brewed coffee for your caffeine enrichment. Andrew takes great pride in everything he does so you will want to give this new coffee a test drive or should I say a high test drive?

SAVE THE DATE!

Coming up May 4th we will be holding our 3rd Annual Decadent Dessert Auction as a fundraiser for the Market. This event has been quite successful in helping us raise funds for Market operations and proves to be even more fun this year because we will be using a live auctioneer as opposed to doing a silent auction as we have in the past. The auction will begin at 10:30 and go until....I'm guessing...11:30. We always hold this event the day before Mother's Day so those of you lucky enough to take home a Decadent Dessert can present it to your Mom and family members on Mom's Day and be the hit of the party. We welcome donations of decadent desserts from our customers and friends. Please be sure to have the dessert to the Market by 9:30 and we will need an ingredient list for those people bidders who may have allergies to foods. If you need more info you can call me at 460-0361.

If you are interested in seeing more organic poultry available here on the Peninsula we need your help. The Kitsap Poultry Growers Cooperative is looking for investors to help bring poultry processing equipment to the West Sound region including the Olympic Peninsula. They need investors to purchase the necessary equipment to make this happen. If you think you might be interested in helping with this very worthy initiative please click here and pass along to anyone you think may be able to help, click here. Thank You!
