Using Personality and Emotional Intelligence
Assessments to aid in predicting success
Have you ever:
  • Wondered what it is that gives your team its own individualistic nature?
  • Found yourself questioning how to personally motivate an employee to increase their professional skills and effectiveness?
  • Wondered how do you properly incentivize a key employee?
  • Conducted an interview without feeling as though you truly understand the professional across the desk, or what might have brought them there?

With the help of corporate psychological consulting all of these abstract challenges and more can be brought into perspective.

Conscientious leaders want to ensure that each and every member of their team and new hire will be complementary to the existing culture. A balanced culture provides the environment for each team member to be capable of providing the projected impact needed, allowing their confidence to grow with the realized success. Every leader has been challenged by limited time constraints under the "doing more with less" model, which can make it next to impossible to personally connect with every person in the company. Even in the best social and communicative environments it can take 6-12 months for relationships to develop allowing crucial candid conversations to take place. This open dialogue is critical for promoting team collaboration and responsiveness as each member works to reach personal and team goals. While we should all continue to strive to understand the people we spend so much of our lives working with, any system that will aid in accelerating that process is valuable.

Multiple studies have indicated the emotional intelligence of an individual significantly outweighs the importance of a high IQ. When interviewing potential employees we repeatedly require proof of intellectual strengths in the form of degrees, references, and background checks; while the question of emotional intelligence is left up to one or two conversations. The scale of potential is grossly imbalanced by this lack of objective source material for these critical evaluations.

The Science

The study of human behavior, motivation, and cognitive reasoning is a relatively contemporary field in the scientific community. Only now, in the turn of the millennia, is it drawing direct attention from the business world. An area of particular interest is the study of psychological types, pioneered by one of the founding fathers of modern psychology, Carl Gustav Jung. His theories have been made practical in effective, reliable personality typing.  The "Myers-Briggs Type Indicator", or "MBTI" and the "Golden Personality Type Profiler" (GPTP) are two of several assessments professionals can use in their initial analysis.  Now, combine personality type with an evaluation of Emotional Intelligence gauging the subject's authority, responsibility, and perceptions of power, and a behavioral analysis measuring the subject's management competencies and leadership potential.  These assessments are fantastic tools in the proper hands, but without a professional to interpret and cross reference the results you are clearly reducing the potential impact of the results.
What We Do

Over the past 15 years, we have utilized a number of different online testing profiles, but always felt there was a gap in the results or the story was not complete missing consistency and depth. Making the strategic shift from a single form of online testing to utilizing the comprehensive analysis from a Behavioral Psychologist has increased our ability to predict human behavior. We have the capacity to focus on how candidates will work with others, in different cultures, while defining the developmental areas for continued growth. Our instincts were right but in most cases the perceived gap is much larger than we first believed. It's virtually impossible to gain perspective and full understanding to something as complex as the individual human personality in different environments, situations, and levels of stress with solely an online test.

The support of Dr. Richard Bents, and his systems allow us to accurately provide all of the reasons why a professional is the right fit, along with educating everyone to the critical risk areas in the combined goals and objectives. This high level of awareness to both success and failure, and the behavioral loops insures that everyone will be working in the right direction, increasing the probability of success in multiples. Further, it offers the professional an increased awareness to their personal strengths and weaknesses, but beyond awareness we provide them with the structured resources to stretch and grow closing those gaps increasing their rate of success.

Few leaders can say, with reasonable confidence, their team is coordinated with the level of awareness, collaboration, and aggressive focused growth that corporate psychological consulting provides. Join the ranks of the forward thinking executive and find out what unlocked potential resides in your business structure. Sometimes the answers are right in front of you and it only takes the proper context to bring them to light.
