GREETINGS FROM TGS
We had a wonderful weekend of TGS support for our Speakeasy/Spring Auction at the Burns' Barn in Walpole on Friday and at the Strolling of the Heifers Parade in Brattleboro on Saturday. Thanks to everyone who helped and participated to make these events such a success! We had record breaking attendance for the Stroll with over 100 parents and students outfitted in yellow TGS bee themed shirts. COFFEE WITH DAN THURSDAY Please join us for the final Coffee with Dan at 8:30am Thursday, June 9 in his office.

The themes for the studio arts track are:
Session I, July 11-15: All the Light We Can See The first week puts the focus on light and includes several types of photography, cyanotypes, and spending time in the sunshine. Session II, July 18-22: Color Your World This week is all about making images of beauty in the world around us. There will be projects large and small, involving lots of drawing, painting, printmaking, and art journaling. Session III, July 25-29: Putting It All Together This week we'll make all kinds of sculpture, including clay, paper mache, and junk sculptures using primarily found and recycled materials!
ALL LIBRARY BOOKS NOW DUE!
We would love your book recommendations. Each year we provide suggested summer reading lists to students entering grades 2-8 in the fall. We also create one for adults and love to include titles parents recommend. So if you have read something you would like to suggest, please let me know. Books from all genres (fun, serious, thought and laugh provoking) are included.

HOST A SPANISH TEEN
Making your summer plans? Why not include a fabulous student from Spain in your family´s activities? We urgently need host families for several Spanish teens, ages 15-17, who will be in New England from June 25 to July 20, just 3 1/2 weeks. The students are all from the Basque region of Spain and are at an intermediate English level. Host families provide a warm and safe home environment for the student, as well as meals and transportation to a meeting spot on the days there are field trips (Boston and Six Flags - host families are invited to come along). It's fine for a student to share a room with a host sibling, and the students have their own spending money, medical insurance, and phone cards.
If your family could host for some or all of the period June 25 - July 20, please call Ann Newsmith at 802-257-4710 or email exchangeVT@gmail.com. Host families are also needed for exchange students who will be attending BUHS and other area schools this fall.
