WORKDAY THANK YOU!
I would like to thank all of the parents, students, faculty and staff who came out for our Spring Workday this past Saturday. It is amazing to see what a group of motivated, positive people can accomplish in just a few hours.
We have a new picnic area in front of the upper school, our gardens are ready for the growing season, the school and bus windows are sparkling clean, brush was cleared on the bank behind our main sign, and several playground improvements are underway.
Sometimes my preparations for the day get a little hectic, but it is always humbling and uplifting to have so many members of our community step forward to go that extra bit to do a great job. From loading that last truck full of brush to a second grader who would not stop until she had washed every window she could find, the day was a real reminder of what makes TGS the place it is.
Thank you,
Kurt

K-6 SPRING CONCERT TUESDAY, MAY 24
Students arrive at 6:10pm.
K-1-2: Kindergarten room
3-4: 4th grade room
5-6: 5th grade room
Concert behavior expectations
We are looking forward to the K-6th Spring Concert next Tuesday. K-1-2 will gather in the Kindergarten room, 3-4 in the 4th grade room, and 5-6 in the 5th grade room. (If you forget a recorder or music folder, please go right up to the theater when you arrive and see Carol Cutts to get what you need.)
Please remind your children that the focus of the evening will be the musical performances, and that they should limit coming in and out of the auditorium for the duration of the concert. (If they need to use the restroom, please wait until there is a break between pieces. This is not a time for children to spend time outdoors or in other spaces in the school.)
Students will sit with their teachers on assigned benches, and will remain in their groups to watch all the performances. Children who do not attend TGS should sit with their families during the concert. When we go outside to the front hill to watch the Maypole Dance on the driveway below, children should stay on the hill until the concert is over.
Thank you and we look forward to seeing you!

In addition, we will have signs that espouse TGS's values, such as Bee Kind, Bee Curious, Bee Amazed, etc. Every student that RSVPs and marches with us will receive a custom TGS T-shirt.These limited edition shirts feature bee themed artwork by Hannah Richards with black ink on a yellow shirt. The only way to receive a T-shirt is to march with us! This is a can't miss event! HEAD OF SCHOOL TRANSITION COMMITTEE AND ACTIVITIES UPDATE
The Transition Committee has been working to ensure a smooth and productive Head of School transition process for Nick and our community.
We have assisted with Nick's campus visit late last month (where he met primarily with faculty, staff, and students), we have helped with Nick's visit this Friday for Grandparents' Day, and we are working on an agenda for a June visit to TGS, as well. The Transition Committee is helping to create a list of area and regional resources for Nick's family, we will gather feedback regarding thoughts on key goals for an initial 120 day plan (half summer, half start of fall semester) for Nick, and we will assist in efforts to transfer documents, policies, operational elements to Nick as the end of June approaches. We are working to make the transition for Nick and his family as warm and positive as possible.
The Transition Committee will also work to establish some times after Nick's arrival when he can be available to meet with parents and anyone else eager to engage in dialogue with our new Head of School. There will be more updates at the end of the school year.
Calling all high rollers! Join the TGS community for an evening of carousing on June 3 at 7:00pm. Your $30 donation gives you exclusive access to gambling, an antique beer truck, a signature cocktail from Saxton's River Distillery, and a silent auction at the Burns' Barn, North Road, Walpole, NH.
Don't forget to break out your flapper outfits and best Great Gatsby inspired garb... Come dressed to impress! Only 100 tickets available. Know other bold party goers? Shhhhh....and pass it on.
