GREETINGS FROM TGS
Thank you to all of the students and teachers for their flexibility and goodwill when they were displaced yesterday due to the downed trees at the Upper School. Classes were held in alternate locations until power was restored.

Yesterday a number of 8th grade students departed for Peru for a service learning project. We wish them safe travels and look forward to hearing about their experience when  they return.

Our two week spring break begins next Monday and we hope you all enjoy this time with your children.

FIVE HUNDRED EIGHTY POUNDS!
That's the grand total of the Student Council Food Shelf Challenge. We were able to deliver the donated food to the Putney Food Shelf and learn about how they help meet the needs of our local community. Thank you to the entire TGS community for the generous donations and support of this challenge!

TGS ARTISTS IN LOCAL EXHIBITIONS
Our young artists are well represented in the community, and we hope you will check out their work!

Elementary Art Exhibit at Brooks Memorial Library in Brattleboro March 5-30, 2016. A range of artwork from our K-5 artists is on view with student work from other area schools.

Student Still Life Paintings at Katy's Great Food in Putney in April. A selection of still life paintings by our fifth graders, inspired by the muted color palette of Giorgio Morandi, graces the walls of our local cafe for the month of April.

Art Electives Exhibition, April 1- May 5 at the Latchis Gallery in Brattleboro, opening at Gallery Walk on April 1Art electives at The Grammar School are a wonderful opportunity for seventh and eighth graders to embark on a six week intensive study of a single medium. This year, students studied black and white 35mm photography at InSight Photography, video production with Michel Moyse of the Center for Digital Design, wheel throwing with Shari Zabriskie at Clayworks, and graffiti with TGS art teacher Hannah Richards. This is always an exciting time for our middle schoolers to pursue focused projects that synthesize the concepts of art making they've studied at TGS with an intensive study of their chosen medium. Come see what they've made!

LIBRARY BIRTHDAY THANKS
Thank you to everyone who contributed to the 56th Library Birthday Party. Once again, the entire school filled the library with enthusiasm for books and reading. Grades 2, 5, 6, and 8 provided literary charades and games for everyone's entertainment. The party ended with students offering their favorite book titles, authors, and series while waiting their turn to choose a cupcake. Thank you to everyone who contributed to party. In all the library received over thirty-five books. And, a special thanks to Hannah, Laura, and the amazing Ann-Michele who provided an stunning array of cupcakes. We are very grateful for your support.
Thank you, Ponnie
