GREETINGS FROM TGS     
Thank you all for your participation over these past few weeks as we've hosted four finalists on campus for the Head of School position. We appreciate your feedback and your involvement in our community meetings. 
 
TGS is proud to host Girls on the Run programs for 3rd-5th and 6th-8th grade girls again this spring. These are excellent after school programs and the response from previous years has been very positive. (See article below for more information.)
 
Some of you may have already seen the beautiful and evocative art collage that upper schoolers put together in celebration of Black History Month. This integrated, creative project is hanging in the hallway near Tammy's office and is well worth seeing.

TGS MOVIE NIGHT IS FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 26
Student Council is hosting a movie night fundraiser for students in grades 5-8 on February 26. The movie starts at 6pm in the auditorium and pickup is at 8:30. Parents are welcome to attend.

The movie will be Jurassic Park. You can find the Common Sense Media listing for the movie here

Admission to movie night is free. Student Council members will be selling refreshments before the show to support their initiatives this spring. If you would like to donate a baked good for the Student Council fundraiser, please drop it off in the faculty room on Friday, February 26 or send it with your child to movie night.
 
Seating will be on the floor and benches in the auditorium. You are welcome to bring a blanket, pillow, bean bag, etc.   

GIRLS ON THE RUN and HEART & SOLE
TGS will host running programs again this spring for 3rd-5th and 6th-8th grade girls. Registration closes March 2.
Beth Henkle '03 and Hannah Richards are leading Girls on the Run this spring. GOTR is open to all girls in grades 3-5. Practices will be held on the little field on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 3:15 to 4:45pm, from March 1 through May 24.

Online registration is open. The program fee is $80, and scholarships are available (request online). Contact Beth Henkle or call 802-999-3659 (cell) or 802-387-4014 (home) for more information.   

Jen Robb will lead Heart & Sole (formerly Girls on Track) this spring for girls in grades 6-8 this spring. This new program for middle school girls will begin on March 22. Practices will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:15-4:45.

FOOD DRIVE BRINGS IN 575 LBS 
The Student Council brought in over 575 lbs during our food drive, which we'll be delivering it to the Putney Food Shelf on Monday. Thank you for your generous donations!

LIBRARY BIRTHDAY PARTY FEBRUARY 25
The Library Birthday Party has been rescheduled to Thursday, Feb 25. We'll gather in the library at 12:30 to celebrate, followed by delicious cupcakes served in the cubby room.
