GREETINGS FROM THE HEAD OF SCHOOL

It was great to see some fresh snow on campus today, especially in light of the fact that we were not able to XC ski yesterday. However, we will need some more snow, warming temperatures, or both, to be able to again make full use of our grounds for winter fun on skis and at recess. The students have been understanding of the reduced areas to play and hopefully we will just enjoy our grounds that much more when snow does arrive.

We hope to see many of you at the Head of School Coffee on Thursday at 8:30. Remember, TGS is closed on Monday in observance of the Martin Luther King Holiday.

TGS HEAD OF SCHOOL UPDATE
The search committee has invited four finalists to our campus. Important details:
  • Each visit will be 1.5 days (e.g. afternoon/evening followed by a full day)
  • here will be multiple sessions during each visit where parents/community can meet each candidate (same for faculty-staff et al.)
  • The details and specific session times for each itinerary may differ due to conflicts and calendar challenges
  • A formal mechanism (likely a survey) will be provided, so that the search committee can gain feedback from all regarding each candidate
  • The TENTATIVE but very likely visit dates are as follows (so please "save the dates"):
* Wed. Jan 27 - Thurs. Jan. 28
* Thurs. Feb. 4 - Fri. Feb. 5
* Wed. Feb. 10 - Thurs. Feb 11
* Tues. Feb. 16 - Wed. Feb. 17
  • Prior to each visit, the cover letter, CV/resume and educational philosophy of each finalist will be provided along with the final itinerary for each visitor - allowing all to be informed and to consider specific sessions to attend, as desired.
More soon regarding this important step in our search for a HOS.

Best regards,
Peter Eden
