GREETINGS FROM THE HEAD OF SCHOOL
Please join me in welcoming Lucy Feder and her family to The Grammar School. They just moved from Missouri to Grafton, Vermont, and Lucy joined the 6th grade on Monday.
Two weeks ago the 3rd-5th grade teachers attended the first in a series of Open Circle classes at Wellesley College. Open Circle curriculum is a comprehensive social and emotional learning program that supports elementary school children in developing the skills they need to be successful learners and to form healthy and positive relationships. The goals of the Open Circle lessons support the culture of kindness we promote every day at TGS. We will share information about the program throughout the year, and more TGS teachers will be trained in the curriculum next year.
Next Wednesday, October 28, TGS will host our annual cross country running invitational race. All are invited and encouraged to participate in this fun community event!
Remember that there is no school next Thursday and Friday, October 29-30, to accommodate our fall conference schedule and long weekend. Please call Tammy to schedule conferences for your child. Enjoy both your conferences and some extra time with family!

TGS INVITATIONAL OCTOBER 28
TGS Invitational team meet will be held at The Grammar School next Wednesday, October 28. Teams need three runners per distance and gender to score, but individuals are welcome to enter the race, as well.
Course walk begins at 3:30. There will be an untimed Lollipop run at 3:40 for children age 5 and younger. Please email Mary with questions.
Next week is the last week of fall sports!
MEDIEVAL FAIRE COSTUME RETURN
Calling all Costumes... If you, or your child(ren) borrowed costumes for the Medieval Faire, please remember to return them. Sooner is better so we can get them organized and hauled back up to the costume loft. Also, PLEASE (please, please, please) return them in the same or better condition as you received them. Clean, and repaired if needed, so they are ready to use again. Thank you!

Music performance dates for the 2015-2016 school year are on the calendar. The 7th-8th grade musical will be performed Wednesday - Saturday, April 6-9, 2016 at 7pm.
