Filling the bus this morning!
|
GREETINGS FROM THE HEAD OF SCHOOL Thank you all for bringing in food donations and helping us fill the bus today to support the Putney Food Shelf. Our TGS community brought in many items for the Food Shelf and our students packed them onto the bus. The eighth graders rode down to Putney village to help unload the food, where some of our students had the opportunity to speak to Fish from WKVT. They shared their views on the importance of giving back and the ethos of community service and care that we all experience here at TGS. We look forward to this great event again next year.
Last week students went on a variety of active and engaging field trips, including trips to Lake Champlain, Mt. Moosilauke, and the Pinnacle. We are making the most of these experiential trips that supplement the curriculum and take advantage of fall in New England.

TGS fall sports are off to a strong start. We have over 50 students running XC and participating in our soccer program. We look forward to more fall sports and appreciate all that each of our athletes and coaches do to support this great program.

TGS AT LATCHIS AND MOCHA JOE'S
For the month of October, a selection of TGS student artwork will be exhibited at Mocha Joe's and the Latchis Gallery in Brattleboro. Openings will be held at these venues on Friday, October 2 during Gallery Walk to support our imaginative young artists. Please join us!
Student artists depicted dragons in different media and styles at each grade level to get into the spirit for the upcoming Medieval Faire, and those pieces will be on display at the Latchis Gallery (next to the theater). Students worked in pencil, tempera, oil pastel, and collage to create these inventive and detailed dragons as part of our community celebration of the Middle Ages.
Student illustrations of seafaring creatures and their collective nouns (animal groupings) will be on view at Mocha Joe's. Fourth graders visualized a smack of jellyfish, an army of herring, a knot of frogs, and other aqueous species in their environments.
