GREETINGS FROM THE HEAD OF SCHOOL
Thank you to the many parents who have filled out the annual TGS parent survey. The survey will close on Thursday of next week and we value your feedback, so please be sure to fill it out before then.

It's hard to believe that our spring vacation is right around the corner. Be sure to check the calendar to stay aware of all of the fun TGS events that punctuate the final months of the year.

We also hope you'll take a look at our fun offerings for our TGS Summer Programs. Be sure to see the descriptions below and feel free to reach out to Jen Robb with any questions.

This has been a very busy few weeks as we've hosted a number of terrific finalists for our open teaching positions. We look forward to making announcements in the near future about the exciting new additions to our faculty for next year, once the decisions are finalized.

Finally, we hope to see as many of you as possible on May 1 for our Spring Event, and remember that you can purchase tickets online here.

TGS SUMMER CAMPS
Plans for Summer Discovery camp and the Young Explorers program are well under way.
While the youngest campers are busy exploring the woods and crafting with Jess Sardinas, older kids can do everything from mountain biking and other outdoor adventures to studio art and traditional crafts.

The three-week sessions will run from July 6 through July 24, and it's a great time to get a jump on your summer schedule by reserving your place now. Please email Jen Robb for more information.

PUTNEY FOOD SHELF
This month kindergarten and fifth grade will be collecting for the Putney Food Shelf. The need is great, so please think of picking up a few items next time you are at the store. Donations should be non-perishable items. Toiletries are also welcome. Collection boxes are outside the Main Office and the kindergarten classroom. Please help us to make this a record month. Many thanks.

OPUS 30 INTERVIEWS
Today Alli and fifth graders Darius and Zoe were interviewed by a reporter from the Keene Sentinel about TGS Opus 30 selections! Look for Matt Nanci's Education column in the Sunday edition of the Keene Sentinel.

SPRING INTO READING APRIL 1-15

Last week we began with a fun day when everyone dressed as her or his favorite book character, and now we're one week into the challenge with only one more week to go! Thank you for your support and your participation. And, don't forget to stop by the "Who are we" bulletin board at the top of the second floor stairs. See if you can tell which childhood photo is the faculty adult you know now. All contracts are due on Thursday, April 16.

Thank you, Ponnie

XC SKIING IS OVER FOR THE SPRING!
Please return rental equipment to Mary in the midi lab, and take home your own skis, boots, and poles. We will clean out the ski storage areas after spring break.

Thanks for a great season on snow!

SPRING SPORTS BEGIN APRIL 28
Tuesdays 3:15-4:30: Mountain biking with Amy Caldwell
Thursdays 3:15-4:30 Trail running with Zach Caldwell

Please email Mary for more information and to sign up for mountain biking and running this spring ($20/student fee). If you would like to volunteer to help with one of the activities, please contact Mary.

MOUNTAIN BIKING
This activity is designed for students who have strong biking skills and experience riding on trails.

TRAIL RUNNING
This year's spring running activity will build on the program we've run for the past several years. The running part of the activity is always incidental to a more compelling objective, which will vary session by session. Some days we'll stage elaborate games. Other days we'll go on point-to-point expeditions. In every session we'll aim to challenge kids to take risks and make efforts that they wouldn't normally expect to encounter.

Kids will usually finish the afternoon soaking wet and very dirty. Appropriate footwear and clothing are necessary. Dry clothes, and a towel to protect car seats at pick-up time are recommended. Runners should have an end of day snack to eat before running, and plenty of fluid. No whining.

TGS SWEATSHIRTS!

Our second and third orders of TGS sweatshirts will be here soon, and we will continue to order more as long as there is interest. Hooded or crewneck sweatshirts are $35, Tshirts are $15, and a student's name on the back is an additional $5. Please email Mary to order, and specify style, size, color, and name choice.
