GREETINGS FROM THE HEAD OF SCHOOL
Thank you all for helping TGS Fill The Bus to benefit the Putney Food Shelf. On Tuesday we gathered a tremendous amount of food, and each class participated in bringing bags of food onto our bus. Once the bus was filled, the 7th and 8th graders brought the donations to Next Stage and unloaded the food. We are waiting on the final tally of how many pounds we collectively contributed, but it is clear that you all pitched in and made a significant impact in helping our food insecure
neighbors. We look forward to future endeavors to Fill The Bus and to our normal traditions of supporting the important work of the Putney Food Shelf.
Today we held our traditional All School Hike on Putney Mountain. Despite the light rain, spirits were high for this important school tradition. I love watching the youngest students get help from their older friends as they clamber together to the top. As is tradition, we held our All School Meeting on top and sang a few TGS songs, including Simple Gifts. Stay tuned for video from this important day in the near future. On the summit we remarked on what a tremendous year we are having at TGS and students were prompted to reflect on their goals for the remainder of the year and all that they wish to accomplish as individuals and as a community. Thank you to the many parents who accompanied us today, we value your partnership.

Sincerely, Dan ALL SCHOOL LUNCH AT THE FRENCH CAFÉ THIS FRIDAY!

MEDIEVAL FAIRE STILL NEEDS VOLUNTEERS OCTOBER 11!
We are 10 days away the Faire, and volunteer slots still need to be filled (or we have to start cutting activities this week)! Please volunteer online now!
Exciting additions to the Faire include Medieval Riding Games and a Joust (at the Upper School Field), Sheep Shearing, expanded Fiber Arts demonstrations, Giant Chess, and a roving Jester/Clown. Based on feedback and available resources, some events have gone by the wayside: the Dungeon Dunk, Hatchet Throw, King's Raffle, and the Pinata.
The Faire is vital for our Scholarship Fund and for spreading the word about TGS to the larger community. Please visit this site to sign up, and feel free to browse costumes in the auditorium, starting Monday, October 6.
Thank you for pulling together and making this such a wonderful event! Questions? Contact Jennifer Jacobs, Melanie Kent, or Jen Robb.
