GREETINGS FROM THE HEAD OF SCHOOL
It was wonderful to see so many parents at our first Back to School Night last night, and I hope you all enjoyed the evening as much as we did. We hope you appreciated the student artwork and custom invitations that each class crafted, and also appreciated the chance to be creative in your teachers' mini lessons and Hannah's art project. We look forward to more opportunities in the future to celebrate the excellent teaching and learning that happens each and every day with your children at TGS. For those who could not make it, here is a quick video of some of our teachers, commenting on some of the things they are excited about at school this year. Special thanks to the TGS faculty and staff who put together such a thoughtful and interconnected evening.
Last Wednesday TGS hosted eleven secondary schools on campus for our annual school fair. This was one of the first of many steps that our eighth graders take on their journey to find the best school for them for their high school years, and it is exciting for them and for us as they imagine their futures. Michael Brown and I had the chance to listen to reports of how our recent alums are doing, and we were pleased to hear so many stories of their successes both in and out of the classroom. Clearly, a TGS education knows no limits.
Each month we will hold a Head of School coffee at TGS, and our first of the year is Wednesday, September 24 at 8:30am in the Library. These coffees are social events, and the goal is to have conversations about TGS and build connections and relationships, while getting caught up on all things TGS. I hope to see many of you there!
Best of luck to our runners this afternoon at the Kurn Hattin XC meet, our first athletic event of the season!
Thank you,
Dan
