Reducing air pollution over Voyageurs, Isle Royale

In our efforts to restore air quality at Voyageurs National Park, VNPA has joined National Parks Conservation Association, Minnesota Center for Environmental Advocacy, Friends of the Boundary Waters, and other clean air groups to file a lawsuit against the Environmental Protection Agency to require Minnesota's Sherco plant to meet modern emission standards. The National Park Service certified that the pollution from the Sherco coal plant significantly impairs visibility in Voyageurs and Isle Royale national parks. Clean air is important for our parks and for all and we encourage EPA to act.

December 15 public forum on campsite reservation system
Voyageurs National Park's Chief of Interpretation will be hosting a public discussion forum in Maple Grove to gather questions, suggestions, support and concerns on a proposed reservation system and campsite amenity fee at the park. Click here for more details.
