Get Out the VOTE for CIS! Help CIS-Charlotte win $50,000!

YOU can help CIS-Charlotte win a $50,000 grant by taking a moment to VOTE in this online contest!  We are one of 10 finalists chosen from across the country by Lincoln Financial Group (LFG) to "compete" for the $50,000 prize. You only need to vote ONE TIME between now and September 4.  If you use Facebook, you can vote by "liking" LFG's Facebook page and then following the steps to vote.  But, you do NOT have to have a Facebook account to vote! - instead you will register on LFG's website and follow those steps. There are several steps, but it still takes just 2-3 minutes -- and would be a HUGE benefit to CIS if we could come out on top! Thanks for sharing with others!

On the right side of the page, click on the "Vote on Facebook" link OR the "Cast your vote now!" text link next to the "No Facebook Account?" heading. Then follow the instructions. You'll know your vote has been accepted whe you see a message that says "Thank You for Voting!"
Now through September 4 - please VOTE for CIS-Charlotte!

CIS is "Changing the Picture" of Education
New Public Awareness Campaign for CIS

Our CIS National Office recently launched a fantastic new public awareness campaign called "Change the Picture." The theme is a metaphor for what the CIS network does for over 1.3 million kids every year - CIS partners with everyone to help "change the picture" for them, their schools and society as a whole. We're thrilled that "one of our own," CIS-Charlotte graduate Jamal Tate, is featured in the campaign! Jamal's story is prominent on the new CIS national website and in many of the marketing materials (TV spots, print ads, mall posters, etc.)  Look for him soon on a billboard near you!

Click this link or the image above to view the new video featuring Jamal Tate.

World's Biggest Graduation Processional! ~ Graduation 2014
We're so proud of our 600+ graduating seniors in the Class of 2014, including this group of graduates from Charlotte's Performance Learning Center! Graduation this year held an extra note of excitement, as students from across the country participated in the "World's Biggest Graduation Processional," a social media event spearheaded by our CIS National Office. Students "tagged" their graduation photos with a #ClassOfChange hashtag on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc. Thousands of images and videos were collected and combined into one online "World's Biggest Graduation Processional."  You can view it on CIS National's website. You can see some of our own local graduation photos - along with some "TBT" (Throwback Thursday!) photos of CIS staff - on our Facebook page.
