DENHAM SPRINGS, La.-  Certified Alarms, a 22-year-old security integration company based here, has stepped into the wholesale monitoring market by launching a new company with a new central station.

The new company, Global Monitoring Solutions,  formally opened for business Monday when its 8,000-square-foot central station went on line. The company was UL listed last week and is in the process of obtaining Five Diamond certification from the Central Station Alarm Association, according to GMS President Jon Adams.
Adams said GMS handles Certified's 18,000 accounts, which previously were monitored by another third-party central. Additional customers were scheduled to join GMS pending notification of the company's UL listing, he said. (continued below)

"While the same people own us, Certified Alarms is our first customer," Adams said. "They're [now] one of our dealers."

Adams said GMS will tap the industry background of its owners, Jan and Rusty Howard, to provide dealers with a partnership that goes beyond the monitoring of accounts.

"We want to use the experience that [our owners] have from running an installing company for the last 22 years and building one from the ground up, on giving advice on what has worked and what has helped us market ourselves better," he said. "We also have staff at our monitoring facility who are trained on search engine optimization and marketing techniques. We want to give advice. We want our dealers to come visit when they want and learn from us on how they can better grow their company."

The partnership with dealers extends to a commitment to invest in the latest technology and communications tools, Adams said.

"We firmly believe that if it saves them time, then it saves them money," he said. "We want to purchase anything and give help in any area that helps them to create new streams of RMR. We just truly want to be a value."
