TOGETHER.
TOWARDS OUR DESTINY.

Gospel Life's Office Lounge/Meeting Hall

It is probably a good thing to be reminded every so often of what you and I stand for, or what principles govern Gospel Life Community.

Gospel Life's Statement of Faith is as follows:  "We believe in the primacy of the gospel of Jesus Christ and the Bible as our only source of authority (Sola Scriptura). The gospel is the simple truth that sinners are saved by grace alone (Sola Gratia), through faith alone (Sola Fide), based on the finished work of Christ alone (Solo Christo), to the glory of God alone (Soli Deo Gloria). We believe that Christians are commanded by Jesus Christ to communicate this Good News to the world and to make disciples who will passionately emulate His life of love and service."

Our eternal destiny has been secure and assured the instant we were born again, when we believed and accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of our lives. Now we journey together towards our destiny as the Holy Spirit transforms each one of us into the image of Jesus, and while we continue to be a transforming influence in the circles in which we move.

There can be no deviation from our belief about the Good News as stated above because it is firmly based on what Jesus taught as "found in and supported by clear and plain statements in the Bible. In addition to these essential beliefs, we also hold other important, but secondary biblical teachings and other Bible-based practices concerning lifestyle and behavior. In these areas of less important beliefs, we believe that there should be a great deal of freedom and understanding among Christians according to personal study, conviction and growth.  We do not insist on imposing our position in these matters on other Christians, expecially in the areas on which Christian churches have traditionally held dissimilar views.

"In essential beliefs we have unity  (Ephesians 4:4-6).  In less essential beliefs we have liberty  (Romans 14:1, 4, 12, 22).  In all other beliefs we have charity  (1 Corinthians 13:2)." *

When we share the gospel with a non-believer, our duty is just that: to share.  It is not our province to compel anyone to believe.  The Holy Spirit is the One who deals with that person, to enlighten, to explain, to convince and even to cajole!   Philippians 2:13 says, "For it is God who is working in you, enabling you both to desire and to work out His good purpose." HCSB

There is probably no greater common purpose God has for us His children than to become a positive, transforming influence to the communities in which we breathe and thrive.

KINGDOM LIFE
Keith Ferrante

Keith Ferrante and his family were our guests at Gospel Life this past weekend.  He shared with us in the two sessions that he had on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. and again yesterday, Sunday, at 10:30 a.m.

The Holy Spirit uses him to bring about a spiritual renewal and revival and he does so in a most enthusiastic and lively manner.  Yesterday was no exception when healing became a big part of the service.

Then he spoke to us with encouragement and conviction in becoming effective witnesses for Jesus.  We are not to be sad or discouraged Christians but vibrant and exuding life wherever we go.

Pastor Hansel announced that the next Kingdom Life seminar is on Sunday, February 10. Remember to mark the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month for these important meetings.

EARLY ENOUGH TO GET READY?
February Fellowship Dinner

The third Saturday of next month falls on February 16th.  And that's when our next monthly fellowship dinner is scheduled for. Will it  also be Gospel Life's Valentine Day celebration?

Johnny Chua is looking for another venue. In doing so he makes sure that the prices are where there's something left for the fund-raising part of it. We'd like to remind everyone to  consider joining.  Our young adults and young people are welcome.  Talk with Johnny if you have children you'd like to bring to share in the fellowship and you might get a substantial discount from the regular price.

Don't miss this one!

Seeing Us for What We Will Become

..."The Lord is with you, mighty warrior." Judges 6:12

-

God always looks at His children for what they will be, not what they are now. The Lord already had seen Gideon as a leader of others, not just a laborer who threshed wheat.

Gideon was an Israelite who lived during a time of oppression from the Midianites. God had allowed Israel to be oppressed because of its rebellion. However, the Israelites cried out to God, and He heard their cry for help. He decided to free them from the oppression of their enemies. God chose a man with little experience in such matters to lead an army against Midian.

-

When God came to Gideon through a visit by an angel, the angel's first words to him were, "The Lord is with you, mighty warrior." God always looks at His children for what they will be, not what they are now. The Lord had already seen this man as a leader of others, not just a laborer who threshed wheat.

-

The apostle Paul said, "I can do everything through Him who gives me strength" (Phil. 4:13). God has reserved an inheritance for you and me. He has foreordained that we should accomplish great things in His name-not so that we will be accepted or become more valued, but to experience the reality of a living relationship with a God who wants to demonstrate His power through each of us.

-

What does God want to accomplish through you today? He used Gideon, with only 300 men, to deliver Israel from an army of more than 100,000. He demonstrated His power through one man who was willing to let God use what little faith he had to free a nation from oppression and bring glory to the God of Israel. The Lord delights in showing Himself strong through those who will trust Him.

Dear Lord, thank You for letting me focus on what is important in life, for allowing me to know you better.

Thank You for showing me the power of your Resurrection. Please, just "give me Jesus," and thank You that You make my life to be a shining light and a testimony to You before others.

Bless You, Lord. In your name I pray. Amen.
