THE ROAD FROM HERE:
God Is Still On the Throne
Our transition into our new office is going smoothly.  Some of you are probably less enthusiastic than others, but we must all remember that everything happens according to His plan, not ours.

Over the last ten years or so, our experience has been replete with doors closing coupled with doors opening, every single time.  The timing of these events only increase our faith in the continuing guidance and direction of all our affairs by and through the Holy Spirit.

The first Saturday evening service for Gospel Life begins this coming Saturday, December 29, at 5:00 p.m.  Everyone looks forward to this as part of the transition.  There are no hard and fast plans as yet regarding food service on Saturday evenings.  We'll see what develops.

In this season of hope and change,  we continue to celebrate the greatest gift of all time, Jesus Christ who died on the cross to redeem humanity.  We believe and accept this, thus ensuring our eternal destiny to live with Him forever.

Our part as followers of Jesus, is to disseminate love to everyone we deal with: family, friends, co-workers, business associates and a thousand others whose lives we touch in some way or another.  This is the reality of being a Christian.  There's no other way!

DETAILS.....
Gospel Life Community's corporate and church offices have taken over Units 20 and 21 on the second floor of the building located on 1414 S. Azusa Avenue in West Covina.  It is a part of the strip mall where the Marukai store is located.

The offices were repainted on Monday.  New carpeting was laid yesterday and office furniture, equipment and supplies are being moved in as we write this piece. We should be fully operational in a matter of a few days.

The utility of the new offices is evident in the number of rooms that are there and in the presence of a roomy hall.  Small group meetings, not-so-large conferences and other meetings to accommodate various ministries of the church may be held or scheduled there.

Thanks to all who helped in one way or another.  Many of our young people and even our "seasoned" members lent their hands and gave of their resources to make the transfer from our previous office to the present one easier than it could have been without them.

The Gospel Is Not About Church Buildings
Pastor John
Pastor John continues his series on "What the Gospel Is Not About" when he speaks at the Good News Hour on Saturday evening.  This time his topic is "The Gospel Is Not About Church Buildings."
A fresh and innovative approach in discussing the Great Commission to spread the gospel far and wide, these weekly topics help the listener to determine that the gospel is not about places, things and events, but rather about establishing a relationship with God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.
Everyone goes through an "Aha!" moment at some point or another. Perhaps this series is an instrument to bring each one to a realization about what the gospel means to him or her.

MARKETPLACE MINISTRY

The Ultimate Franchise

And He said unto them, How is it that ye sought Me? Wist ye not that I must be about My Father's business? Luke 2:49 KJV

Earth is God's business. He has set up many franchises (churches) designed to send His representatives (Body of Christ) into the world to make known the best product ever given to mankind (Jesus). His branch managers (pastors) have been given the responsibility to teach and support those in the field. God's goal is to establish a franchise in every nation, state, and city. It is the ultimate business because when you introduce someone to His product (Jesus), you receive a reward from the home office (Heaven). God has promised that His representatives will have all the tools and customer support needed to accomplish their strategic plans.

-

Jesus knew that He was to be about His Father's business. He knew He was sent to earth not to enjoy the pleasures of lowly man, but to accomplish a task for which He alone was sent. When He had accomplished His mission, He was to entrust this mission to other representatives into whom He poured His life for three years. This field training allowed Jesus to mentor, model, befriend, and demonstrate firsthand the model for a successful business to be launched and sustained.

-

God has big plans for His franchise. He wants every human being to partake of His product; however, even God knows that not everyone will. Nevertheless, this does not thwart His efforts in seeking to make it known among His audience.

 -

You have been called to be part of the ultimate franchise. How many new recruits have you been responsible for bringing into the franchise lately?

Meditation

Dear God, I have felt emotional pain and I have experienced physical pain. I have seen the effects of all kinds of pain in other people's lives and it is not pretty.

Thank You so much for the gift of being able to reach out to others, to think of them, to think of good things,  to think of You, rather than to focus on my own pain. When I am able to reach out and help someone else, my spirit is filled with joy, happiness, and satisfaction. It takes my mind off my own pain and problems, and directs it to a better perspective.

Thank You that through the Holy Spirit I am able to ease the pain of my family, friends, neighbors, coworkers, church friends, and whoever else needs a special touch. In Jesus' name I pray, amen.
