Wednesday Edition
THEME FOR NOVEMBER:  TRANSFORMING IMPACT
You're a Gospel Lifer!  What does that mean?

Simply, you are a Christian who believes in a "Bible-based, grace-oriented and Spirit-filled Christian ministry that reaches out to all people who are disconnected from God or the church in order to fulfill Christ's command to preach and advance the Gospel of the Kingdom to all nations."

That's how you are defined in Gospel Life's Ministry Handbook. Are you fulfilling it or just getting ready to do so?

Remind yourselves that the Bible is your only source of authority (Sola Scriptura), that the plain gospel truth is that sinners are saved by grace alone (Sola Gratia), through faith alone (Sola Fide) in the finished work of Christ alone (Solo Christo) and to the glory of God alone (Soli Deo Gloria).

As far as our beliefs are concerned, in essential beliefs we have unity; in less essential beliefs we have liberty; and in all other beliefs we have charity.

When you allow these general principles to govern every aspect of your life, you can be sure that your own life will be easier to manage, you will be a blessing to others and you will have a transforming impact in your circles of influence.

The Church Staff
WELCOME
Pastors John and Jessie Tulio
Pastors John and Jessie
Our Senior and Founding Pastors John and Jessie Tulio arrived yesterday after a non-stop 12-hour flight from the Philippines. Welcome home!

Both of them were present at the church staff meeting held earlier today and they were both vibrant and happy as they can be.

We're pretty sure they have a whole bunch of experiences to tell us once they have settled in.  We have to enjoy their presence while they are here with us in the U.S.A. as they will be returning to the Philippines to continue their missionary work there sometime next year.
Core Group Meeting
We will have a Core Group Meeting on Sunday, November 17, at 2:00 p.m. We hope to have as good an attendance as last time, or better.

As you all know, the Core Group is the highest authority in our local church structure.  As such, your presence is important.

Please plan to be there.  We remind our younger Core Group members to be there, too.  Your opinions and participation count as much as anyone else's.
Fundraising Update
FRD June 2012 Ademir et alRemember,  our monthly fundraising fellowship dinner for November has been moved to the fourth Tuesday of the month, November 27, instead of the usual third Tuesday.  That's the Tuesday after Thanksgiving Day, at 6:30 p.m.

Please give your reservations to Johnny or Nellie Chua by calling (909) 228-2162.  This time around, dinner will be at the Capital Seafood Restaurant in Rowland Heights.  We've been there several times previously and everyone seems to enjoy the fellowship around those tables which seat ten per table.

As in the past, each table is served ten entree dishes, not counting the appetizers and desserts which are also included.  Invite your friends and other family members to come and meet your church family.  Ask members of your small groups who do not attend church at Gospel Life to come also. It's a good way to unwind at the end of another day.

 Why God Blesses
-

"And David knew that the Lord had established him as king over Israel and that his kingdom had been highly exalted for the sake of His people Israel." 1 Chronicles 14:2

-

King David learned an important lesson every leader must learn if he is to ensure God's continual blessing. He knew why God blessed him. It wasn't because he deserved it, though he was a man who sought God with his whole heart. It wasn't because of his great skill, though he was a great military strategist. It wasn't because he was perfect, for he committed some horrible sins during his reign as king. No, it was for none of these reasons. God blessed David for the "sake of His people Israel." God never blesses an individual just for that person's exclusive benefit. God calls each of us to be a blessing to others. So often we forget this last part.

-

R.G. LeTourneau, a businessman who built heavy construction equipment, came to realize this only after God took him through many trials. Once the Lord had all of LeTourneau, he came to realize that the question wasn't whether he gave 10 percent of what the Lord gave him. Rather, the question was, "What amount does He want me to keep?" LeTourneau was known for giving 90 percent of his income toward the end of his career and was a great supporter of world missions. But the Lord doesn't bless workplace believers just for the ability to give financially. God has given workplace believers many more gifts beyond the financial.

-

What is happening with the spiritual fruit of God's blessing on your life? Is it clogged, or is it freely flowing to others? Ask the Lord to free you to be a blessing to those in your circle of influence.

Meditation

"Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen" (Ephesians 4:29).
-
Father, it is not unusual for me not to let the most encouraging and beneficial things to come out of my mouth. Thank You for giving me strength and wisdom through your Spirit to think before I speak. Discipline my tongue so that the words that come from me are words of truth, words of light, words that are appropriate for the moment and the person or people who hear them.
-
Thank You for giving me words that honor You.  Thank You for making them instructional, inspirational, motivational, and encouraging to others. I want to be one who supports others in whatever it is they need, so that they are lifted up and motivated to reach their potential...to glorify You...to be blessed and be a blessing.
-
Thank You for hearing me, God. Thank You for Your forgiveness and Your light. In the name of Jesus I come to You, amen.
