ORDER YOUR ECO-PALMS

Palm Sunday is March 24 this year. Why not celebrate the triumphal entry of Christ using palm fronds that are fairly traded? Through the Eco-Palm Project, palms bought from harvesters are purchased at a fair price and cut down in a way that protects the environment.

PUBLICATION FEATURES BRITTON / CLAREMONT / HECLA AND KIMBALL

The process of joining the three churches ( Britton, Claremont, and Hecla) took about nine months, Manning explained. "Part of it was financial, part of it was numbers, and part of it was the needs of the churches," Rev. Nancy Manning, Britton / Claremont / Hecla, said.

The three protestant churches in Kimball, South Daktoa voted to join together as a unity church on Sept. 11, 2011, and just recently they voted on their bylaws.

Pastor Laurie Kidd said, "The united church is working well, but there were some concerns to address in the transition. Some members had a hard time letting go of some established traditions."

WONDERING ABOUT BACKGROUND CHECKS FOR YOUR LOCAL CHURCH VOLUNTEERS?

Trak1 and the Dakotas Conference have partnered together to make access to background checks easily accessible and more cost efficient for local churches.  The Conference has contracted with Trak1 for all its background checks and is pleased to offer you that opportunity, too.

Being in ministry with one another, in both our local churches and within the Conference, is a privilege and an honor; an invitation into the holiest of places and space as we grow more Christ like in our understanding of each other, our relationships as humans and our relationship to God.  Helping provide centralized background checks is one way the Safe and Sacred Spaces Ministry Team honors this Sacred Space and helps provide safety for every individual, every child of God.

A second way is to provide training.  Be watching for training in your area this spring to help resource your church in the formation and implementation of a Safe Sanctuary policy.
