SIOUX FALLS -- Wesley United Methodist Church in Sioux Falls, South Dakota is used to being on the receiving end of gifts and mission dollars. Church members at Wesley were delighted to be able to provide nearly a 53-foot semi load of winter goods to Tree of Life in Mission, South Dakota. The items totaling $30,000 to $40,000 were loaded in subzero temperatures. The truck delivered the goods to Tree of Life Ministry that serves the people of the Rosebud and Pine Ridge Indian Reservations.

EMBRACE UMC HIGHLIGHTED IN NEWS

SIOUX FALLS -- Embrace United Methodist Church was featured twice recently in the news. The Sioux Falls Argus Leader featured Embrace as a successful new church plant. KSFY television in Sioux Falls, South Dakota did a story on live streaming at Embrace as a way to allow people to attend church during a storm.

UNITED METHODIST CHURCHES HIGHLIGHTED IN STAINED GLASS DOCUMENTARY
South Dakota Public Broadcasting Television's new documentary "Light of the Prairie: South Dakota Stained Glass" premiered Monday, Feb. 4. The documentary is also scheduled to air Sunday, March 3 at 7 p.m. (CST), and can be viewed online.
Stained glass examples included in the documentary are Aberdeen First United Methodist Church and Deadwood United Methodist Church.

NOMADS HEADED TO MINOT THIS SPRING
MINOT -- During the upcoming building season, Hope Village will be assisted by teams of NOMADS. They are a ministry of the United Methodist Church and are primarily retired couples who travel in their RVs to perform service in communities. The NOMADS' mission statement is "Rebuilding lives, homes, and facilities with God's love and our hands."
So far, 20 teams of NOMADS have signed up from April to September to help Hope Village rebuild Minot.

EARLY RESPONSE TEAM TRAINING
When disaster strikes, the local church usually provides the first response. Volunteers need to be trained, background checked and badged so they are ready to go as soon as the area is safe.
The next training will be from 9 AM to 4 PM, Saturday, March 2 at Fargo First United Methodist Church, 906 First Avenue South, Fargo, ND.
