The Dakotas Conference Office will be closed December 24 and 25, 2012 for the Christmas holiday. There will normal (8 am - 5 pm CST) office hours (8 am - 5 pm CST) Monday through Friday, December 26-31, 2012.

January 10 deadine for Peace with Justice grant
Jan. 10 is the deadline to apply for a Peace with Justice grant from the United Methodist General Board of Church & Society (GBCS).gift donation to the Society of St. Andrew provides about 600 servings of fresh food to hungry families in the United States.

SLAUGHTER OF THE INNOCENTS "A voice was heard in Ramah, wailing and loud lamentation, Rachel weeping for her children; she refused to be consoled, because they were no more." ~Matthew 2:18, NRSV Matthew's Gospel quotes the prophecy of Jeremiah in reporting that King Herod killed all the male children in the region of Bethlehem who were two years old or under in his misguided, rage-induced and evil attempt to eliminate Jesus. Last Friday, our nation endured yet another slaughter of the innocents when 20 first grade children and six teachers and school administrators at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut were shot to death by a deeply disturbed young man. UNITED METHODISTS TO GET DISCOUNTS AT STAPLES
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (UMNS) - The General Council on Finance and Administration, the denomination's finance agency, has entered into an agreement with Staples to provide preferred pricing and discounts on purchases. The total of all sales to United Methodist organizations will result in a 1 percent annual rebate to the United Methodist Committee on Relief.
