An Illustrated Life: Fleeting Moments of Wonder & Discovery
The Art of Elizabeth Nehls
At the Riverhead Free Library
The artist shares: "In time, it is clear to see that ordinary events of daily living become extraordinary moments to cherish. It has been my goal to capture these moments in the pages of my written and illustrated journals, using micron pens and frequently, colored pencil. In the exhibit An Illustrated Life, from journals to canvas, I have reproduced some of the images from my journals. I have eliminated the writing in most cases making the work easier to view and frame. Also in the exhibit are selections of oil and watercolor paintings which have been inspired by everyday life, as well as some reproductions from the pages of, Finding Faces in the buildings of N.Y.C." Exhibit dates: August 4 - September 28, 2016. Exhibit in the Elizabeth Fox Overton Gallery in the Riverhead Free Library.
