Anna Franklin will take part in the Mostly Abstract exhibit taking place in midweek at Ashawagh Hall. A reception will be held on Tuesday, August 23, 6 - 8 PM. The gallery will be open on Tuesday 11 AM - 8 PM, Wednesday and Thursday, 11 AM - 5 PM. Along with Ms. Franklin, Abstract IV will feature a diverse group of accomplished artists whose styles and techniques vary greatly. Though connected through abstraction, this is a very eclectic exhibition with distinct recognizable styles and an exploration of a wide variety of media in paintings as well as sculptures. Ms. Franklin is also an accomplished landscaper and a plein air painter with another equally talented group: The Wednesday Group. She finds inspiration in many different sources, the beauty of the land and sea here on the East End being one of them, as well as the sparkle of a color, the movement of a gesture, the sound of a laughter, the crash of a sea wave! Ms. Franklin is very excited to show for the first time, exclusively, her abstracts along with curator Beth Barry, Anahi Decanio, Barbara Bilotta, Lieve Thiers, Bo Parsons, Sheila Rotner, Cynthia Sobel, Mark Zimmerman, Katherine Hammond and Robert Liebel. The exhibit will run from August 23 to August 25.
