"Ladies' Man"

At the Holy Trinity Church, Greenport

French master of the farce, Georges Feydeau, explores the bumpy road to love in his one act play, "Ladies' Man". The sophisticated comedy starring Laura Pearsall and Lena Trbojevic is presented by Northeast Stage to benefit their summer 2015 Shakespeare in the Park production of Twelfth Night. The evening's director, James Pritchard, will round out the program with a selection of love songs. Performances will be held May 8, 9, 10 and May 15, 16, 17. The "Open Mics" are hosted by Susan Dingle and Robert "Bubbie" Brown; poets, community advocates, social workers and educators committed to honoring the creativity of all people. EEA's JumpstART program is an innovative public arts collaboration to bring vitality to Downtown Riverhead through partnerships between artists and businesses. Open call for artist participation in the upcoming juried, all media art show NOVEL MATERIALS / NEW TECHNIQUES at the East End Arts Gallery in Riverhead. Gallery Director Jane Kirkwood encourages artists: "Innovation is one of the most exciting aspects about creating art. Maybe you've created your own unique process - or you've repurposed materials intended for uses other than making art. All artistic innovation in any genre is welcome for this exhibit." Guest juror for this show is Margery Gosnell-Qua, curator of the Lyceum Gallery at SCCC. CALL FOR ARTIST ENTRIES Southampton Arts Center announces a call for submissions into a juried show which will feature wall hung works of varied media and format, to be exhibited this summer. The center will celebrate the works of artists who live and/or work on Long Island, from farthest points east to farthest points west. OPEN CALL FOR ARTISTS The William Steeple Davis Trust of Orient, Long Island is now accepting applications for an artist-in-residence for the period of October 15, 2015 through October 1, 2016. The William Steeple Davis Trust artist-in-residence program was established in 1976 under the will of Mr. Davis to "provide a temporary place of abode for persons of good character who are or have been actively engaged in cultural professions, particularly in   the arts, and who are without adequate funds to provide for such accommodations." Past residents' endeavors have included painting, photography, writing, sculpting, poetry and music. The Davis house and studio are located in Orient, on the eastern end of the North Fork of Long Island, New York. The house and studio are in a quiet location within sight of Orient Harbor, within walking distance of public beaches, open fields and marshes, a post office and a small country store. Residence in the house would be possible without a car, but quite inconvenient. Due to the limitations of the small historic house, children and pets cannot be accommodated. CALL FOR ARTISTS Gallery North's 50th Annual Outdoor Art Show Application is Now Available! The art show will be held at Gallery North on September 19 & 20, 2015. Since 1966, Gallery North has hosted this treasured Long Island staple featuring a variety of art and crafts. CALL FOR ARTISTS: NEW YORK-QUEBEC ARTIST IN RESIDENCE EXCHANGE PROGRAM The New York State Council on the Arts in partnership with the Conseil des Arts et des Lettres du Québec (CALQ) has launched a second iteration of the NY-Quebec Artist in Residence Exchange program. Three individuals from New York State will be chosen as artists in residence in the Province of Québec for residencies that will commence in the late summer. The residency opportunity comes with a stipend of $9,000. The goal is to offer New York State artists a new career development tool and develop fruitful collaboration with Québec cultural communities, as well as give venues and communities in New York State the opportunity to learn from and be enriched by the Québecois artists in residence here. Three Québecois artists will also have the same opportunity to come to venues in New York State. Deadline to apply is Friday, June 26, 2015 at 12:00 PM noon. CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: DAN'S PAPERS ANNUAL LITERARY PRIZE Dan's Papers is now accepting submissions for their annual $6,000 Literary Prize for Nonfiction and are excited to launch an additional $4,000 Emerging Young Writers Prize for Nonfiction this year! The entries must be nonfiction works between 600-1500 words and meaningfully reference the East End. Writers 25 and younger are eligible to vie for the Emerging Young Writers Prize. SEEKING TEACHING ARTISTS APPLICATIONS  
The Community Library Friends of the Arts, Inc. is seeking applications from artists of all disciplines interested in teaching classes to adults at the community library in Shirley. They are interested in unique proposals for multi-session classes which actively engage adults with no prior art experience in the creative process. Compensation: $35-$45 hour depending on proposal. CALL FOR SCULPTURE ENTRIES
The Brookhaven Arts and Humanities Council along with The Bellport Chamber of Commerce and Bellport Village are accepting submissions for from sculptors for an outdoor sculpture to be permanently installed in the Village of Bellport. Artists must be 18 years of age or older. Work must be: original, three-dimensional, suitable for outdoor installation and able to be structurally secured to a concrete pad, capable of withstanding adverse weather conditions and high traffic areas and safe for children, suitable for family viewing. Works deemed unsafe, overly fragile, or otherwise unsuitable will not be considered for the exhibition. No work can exceed 15 feet in height or weigh more than 500 pounds, due to the limitations of the equipment available to Art in Public Places for installation of the sculptures.
