Quogue Gallery Presents
"Le Corbusier: Unité"
Opening Reception
5 - 7 PM
At the Quogue Gallery
The Quogue Gallery proudly presents "Le Corbusier: Unité," an exhibition of etchings and aquatints from the artist's Unité Portfolio. Based on a series of pastels that Le Corbusier drew in 1953, the Unité etchings were engraved between 1963-1965. The Unité Portfolio was one of Le Corbusier's last projects before his death in 1965. In keeping with his lifelong philosophy that art has no boundaries, the Unité Portfolio was intended to be a complete, unified work of art. This exhibit offers a rare opportunity to see the portfolio displayed together. This exhibition runs from November 28-December 31. Gallery hours are Friday-Sunday, 10:30-5:00 PM and by appointment: 631-653-6236 / info@quoguegallery.com. For more info, visit www.quoguegallery.com

CALL FOR ARTISTS: Katonah Museum of Art presents a Tri-State Juried Exhibition: "Line Describing a Cone"

Exhibition Dates are January 18 through February 15, 2015. Juror is Eva Respini is Curator at The Museum of Modern Art. Juror Statement: "The definition of space is one of the fundamental features of visual representation in twentieth and twenty-first century art. From the oscillating layers of a Cézanne painting to the deep corridors of depth in a de Chirico work, artists have addressed the elements of three dimensions in various and often competing ways. Using film as light cutting through space, contemporary artist Anthony McCall's work, "Line Describing a Cone"(1973) inspires this year's theme; the piece is spatial and temporary, with light the primary medium giving form to an environment. Artists are invited to explore the meaning of space in their work, using whatever materials and expressive outlets they require. Representing space is but one potential feature; experiencing with works that proclaim their physical relationship to their environment another." Artists from the tri-state area (NY, NJ, CT) are invited to submit up to three paintings, drawings, prints, mixed media works, sculptures, photographs, or videos for consideration. Works in all media are eligible for awards; First Prize is $1,000; Second Prize is $750; Third Prize is $500. All work must be executed since 2010. Deadline for submission of artworks: Monday, December 15, 2014. For fees and submission guidelines, and all information, visit  click here.
