An Artist Reception will be held on Saturday, May 24, 3:30 - 5:00 PM. Karen Bell sees nature in ways that many people are often too busy to notice. In this mini- retrospective of photographs and artist books, Karen displays her love of art and nature. Karen Bell's photographs and artist books have been exhibited and collected widely including: The Brooklyn Museum, Ellis Island Immigration Museum, New York Public Library, The Center for Book Arts. She has received grants from Lower Manhattan Cultural Council/Governors Island, The New School and fellowships to Yaddo and the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts.

Oil paintings, silverpoints, fine art prints and art from her award-winning animated films. Wells started at The Walt Disney Studios mentored by the famous "nine old men". Instructor at Cal Arts and USC, Wells created Piazzanyc.com a project sponsored by NYFA and was the first woman nominated for 2 Annie Awards (animation's Oscars). Exhibition dates are May 23 through July 6, 2014.

Ms. Bindman has an extensive background as a recitalist, chamber musician and concerto soloist, having performed at Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, The 92nd Street Y, Merkin Hall and with The Radio and TV Symphony Orchestra of Moscow, Russia, among other venues. She is a summer resident of Orient and is donating this concert for the benefit of improvements at Poquatuck Hall. Don't miss this exciting concert!
