CALL FOR ARTISTS: Riverhead welcomes an Indoor Farmers' Market to Downtown!
The Riverhead Business Improvement District (BID) announced the target opening for the indoor farmers' market at 117 East Main Street in Riverhead for February 1, 2014. To be held Saturdays through May 17 from 11 AM to 3 PM, the market will offer local product and produce. Look for cheeses, herbs, Greek yogurt, fibers, yarn, mushrooms, pasta, seafood, coffee, cut flowers, and more. Artists are invited to be a part of the excitement. There are several available 4ft (wide) x 8ft (high) panels which will be used for display in the market. Artists are invited to submit ideas for panels which will be completed in acrylic. One design per panel. Artists may submit as many designs as they wish. Chosen ideas will be painted on site. Submit your ideas as jpgs to psnyder@eastendarts.org by February 15, 2014.
OPEN CALL FOR ARTISTS: EEA's SHADOW Show
Open call for artist participation in the upcoming juried, all media art show Shadow at the East End Arts Gallery in Riverhead. Gallery Director Jane Kirkwood encourages artists: "They can be colorful and complex, or dark and obscuring. Either way, the use of shadow is one of the artist's best tools to evoke emotion while emphasizing form and focus." Guest juror of this show is artist Ivan Kustura. Original works in all media may be submitted, including: painting, drawing, photography, mixed media, video, sculpture and poetry; up to three entries can be submitted per artist. Visual art entries will be accepted on Thursday, March 6 and Friday, March 7 from 10AM to 4PM; and Saturday, March 8 from 10AM to 3PM at the EEA Gallery. Poetry entry deadline is February 25, 2014. CALL FOR ARTISTS: LAKESIDE STATEWIDE 2014 The Art Association of Oswego is now accepting entries for the 17th Annual Lakeside Statewide Juried Art Exhibition. Entry in this exhibition is open to all artists 18 years of age and older, living or working in New York State over the last 2 years. Acceptable media include: drawing, painting, sculpture, mixed media, printmaking, photography, ceramics, digital media and all fine craft. The purpose of the exhibition is to offer a diverse cross-section of artwork currently being produced in New York State. The juror for this year's exhibition will be Ms. Gina Zanolli, a Rochester-based artist who specializes in drawing and painting. The postmark deadline for entries is Monday, February 17. INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY The Board of Trustees of the Southold Historical Society is pleased to once again offer the Bainbridge Internship Program for the year 2014. AUDITIONS FOR UPCOMING PRODUCTION OF "INTO THE WOODS" AT NORTH FORK COMMUNITY THEATER The NFCT is proud to announce the auditions for its upcoming production of "Into the Woods". NYFA's ONLINE APPLICATION FOR THE 2014 ARTISTS' FELLOWSHIPS Artists' Fellowships are $7,000 unrestricted cash awards made to individual originating artists living and working in the state of New York. Grants are awarded in 15 artistic disciplines, with applications accepted in five categories each year. Since the awards began in 1985, NYFA has awarded over $27 million to over 4,400 artists. The Fellowship award is free for artists to apply! SUFFOLK COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY OFFERS HISTORY ALIVE GRANTS Funds Will Support Local History Exhibitions and Publications

The Suffolk County Historical Society is pleased to announce that stipends are available for local history organizations to underwrite the cost of new exhibitions, publications, and special projects. Historical societies are encouraged to apply to the Suffolk County Historical Society for stipends of up to $500, which will be awarded on a rolling basis throughout the year. The SCHS review committee is particularly interested in proposals that are innovative, engage the pubic, and advance the study of Long Island history. USARTISTS INTERNATIONAL 2014: ROUND II of III GRANT APPLICATION DEADLINE APPROACHING USArtists International provides support for American dance, music, and theater ensembles and solo artists invited to perform at significant international festivals anywhere in the world outside the United States and its territories. RELIEF FUND FOR ARTISTS IN CT, NJ and NY IMPACTED BY HURRICANE SANDY The New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) is pleased to announce the creation of an emergency relief fund to support individual artists in all disciplines impacted by Hurricane Sandy. The application will be posted on www.nyfa.org and www.artspire.org and submissions will be accepted on a rolling basis. The program will be open to literary, media, performing and visual artists residing in Connecticut, New Jersey and New York. The fund is being launched with a $1 million leadership gift from the Andy Warhol Foundation, the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation and the Lambent Foundation, with additional support from individual donors and organizations who have held fundraisers, auctions and other events to support artists in need.

APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN: EMERGENCY RELIEF RESIDENCIES AT THE VERMONT STUDIO CENTER The Pollock-Krasner Foundation, Inc., as part of its Hurricane Sandy Emergency Relief Fund is collaborating with the Vermont Studio Center to assist visual artists who have experienced damage, losses, and/or displacement due to Hurricane Sandy by providing 4-week to 8-week studio residencies at the Vermont Studio Center in Johnson, VT. Eligible professional visual artists can be working in any discipline and must reside in Connecticut, New Jersey, or New York. Impacts may include loss of work, loss of or damage to studio space, interruption of creative routine, or displacement. Applications are accepted and awarded on a rolling basis.
