Artist Andrea Cote will share her process for developing and presenting temporary public projects, including the recent "Eyes on Main Street" for Downtown Riverhead, as well as artworks in conjunction with the O, Miami Poetry Festival, DUMBO Art Under the Bridge in Brooklyn, and Art in Odd Places in NYC. She will cover proposal writing and funding and documentation. Participants will be able to workshop their ideas for projects in all stages of development.

The Teeny Awards Judging Committee is seeking qualified volunteers for evaluating high school theatrical performances on the East End for the 2013-2014 academic year. The judges are a very important component of the Teeny Awards as they adjudicate all performances and determine the most outstanding performances to receive the highest honor: a Teeny Award. Ideal candidates have background, experience,or a strong appreciation for theater.

Orientation is provided. Theatrical performancestake place at 17 high schools in eastern Suffolk County. All judges are invited to the gala awards ceremony in June 2014. The first meeting for Teeny Awards judges will be held on Wednesday, October 9 from 6:30 PM to 8 PM at the East End Arts Carriage House, located behind the Gallery at 133 E. Main Street, Riverhead NY. Those interested in judging are encouraged to attend.

The Remsenburg Academy's final art show in the ArtRemsenburg 2013 season, " Images: Variations," features the works of photographer Ron Diel and collage artist Nicole Franz. Here the realism of the photographic image will be contrasted with the reconstructed vision of the collage to present two very different points of view, each valid in its own very distinctive way. Ron Diel's work, entitled Seasonality: Central Park in Four Movements, features images from the Park that highlight the beauty of Central Park across each of the four seasons. Nicole Franz has worked in the fashion industry and is an art teacher. Her collages are the joining of those two worlds. CALL FOR ARTISTS: Farmers & Artists & City Kids invites artists to work with visiting city youth. The historic 1831 Northville Grange near Riverhead makes a comfy base camp for visiting groups of 12 - 15 city youngsters (aged 7-12) and their chaperones while they explore the farms and art scene of the North Fork. Part of this program, local artists work with visiting city youngsters to show what inspires them to paint, dance, act, cook, sculpt sing or take photos. The artists show some techniques they use in their work and lead the group in a participatory art project on the Grange campus, or in a nearby outdoor setting. Farmers & Artists & City Kids is looking for featured artists! You can teach visitors what no one else can about life as a working artist. Become a Music TogetherŪ Teacher: Lyrical Children Inc is seeking an enthusiastic, high energy person to work with kids (Birth to 5) and their caregivers teaching this worldwide Music & Movement Class in its East End locations from Calverton to Greenport. Experience managing a group is recommended but not required and training is provided. The community news website has created a column called First Impressions - where an image of artwork is posted each week and readers respond by writing comments about what the work means to them. At the end of the week, the artist posts what they were thinking when they created the piece. Click on the title above to see the first installment featuring local photographer Meryl Spiegel's Scissored, from her Phantoms series. Patch is looking for artists to participate. GRANT OPPORTUNITIES
RELIEF FUND FOR ARTISTS IN CT, NJ and NY IMPACTED BY HURRICANE SANDY The New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) is pleased to announce the creation of an emergency relief fund to support individual artists in all disciplines impacted by Hurricane Sandy. The application will be posted on www.nyfa.org and www.artspire.org and submissions will be accepted on a rolling basis. The program will be open to literary, media, performing and visual artists residing in Connecticut, New Jersey and New York. The fund is being launched with a $1 million leadership gift from the Andy Warhol Foundation, the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation and the Lambent Foundation, with additional support from individual donors and organizations who have held fundraisers, auctions and other events to support artists in need.
APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN: EMERGENCY RELIEF RESIDENCIES AT THE VERMONT STUDIO CENTER The Pollock-Krasner Foundation, Inc., as part of its Hurricane Sandy Emergency Relief Fund is collaborating with the Vermont Studio Center to assist visual artists who have experienced damage, losses, and/or displacement due to Hurricane Sandy by providing 4-week to 8-week studio residencies at the Vermont Studio Center in Johnson, VT. Eligible professional visual artists can be working in any discipline and must reside in Connecticut, New Jersey, or New York. Impacts may include loss of work, loss of or damage to studio space, interruption of creative routine, or displacement. Applications are accepted and awarded on a rolling basis with residencies scheduled beginning January 2013. For more information please visit
