A printing press is available for rent during that time for artists that have been certified to use it. This on-going opportunity is limited to East End Arts members. The EEA Student Orchestra has been rehearsing in preparation for this incredible opportunity with one of the greatest violinists of our time.

Become a Music Together® Teacher: Lyrical Children Inc is seeking an enthusiastic, high energy person to work with kids (Birth to 5) and their caregivers teaching this worldwide Music & Movement Class in its East End locations from Calverton to Greenport. Opportunity for Fine Craft Artists The Long Island Craft Guild invites entries for the exhibit "Feast or Famine" to be held in the fall of 2013 at the prestigious Jeanie Tengelsen Gallery of the Art League of Long Island in Dix Hills, NY. This is an exhibit of fine craft: eligible media are clay, fiber, glass, paper, leather, metal/jewelry and wood. Mixed media pieces are acceptable; no painting, drawing or photography. The phrase "feast or famine" indicates a condition characterized by alternating extremely high and low degrees of prosperity, success, volume of business, etc. Artists often lead a feast-or-famine life. Open Call To Local East End Artists Greenport's 24th Annual Maritime Festival is Seeking Arts & Crafts Participants from 631 Area Code. Sponsored by the East End Seaport Museum and Marine Foundation. The festival is a 20 year old village tradition that highlights our maritime heritage. Family-oriented fun. Large attendance of over 40,000. Festival Exhibition Dates: Saturday, September 21 and Sunday, September 22, 11 AM - 5 PM. One-of-a-kind handmade crafts, wearable and usable art, book arts, paintings, graphics, photographs, note cards. All work displayed must be the original work of the artist. PROMOTE YOUR WORK Patch.com is offering an exciting FREE publicity opportunity for artists. The community news website has created a column called First Impressions - where an image of artwork is posted each week and readers respond by writing comments about what the work means to them. At the end of the week, the artist posts what they were thinking when they created the piece. Click on the title above to see the first installment featuring local photographer Meryl Spiegel's Scissored, from her Phantoms series. Patch is looking for artists to participate. All you need is a jpg of an image of your work (size: at least 72 dpi, at least 6 x 6 inches) and a paragraph describing what you were thinking when you created the artwork. GRANT OPPORTUNITIES
RELIEF FUND FOR ARTISTS IN CT, NJ and NY IMPACTED BY HURRICANE SANDY The New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) is pleased to announce the creation of an emergency relief fund to support individual artists in all disciplines impacted by Hurricane Sandy. The application will be posted on www.nyfa.org and www.artspire.org and submissions will be accepted on a rolling basis. The program will be open to literary, media, performing and visual artists residing in Connecticut, New Jersey and New York. The fund is being launched with a $1 million leadership gift from the Andy Warhol Foundation, the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation and the Lambent Foundation, with additional support from individual donors and organizations who have held fundraisers, auctions and other events to support artists in need.
APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN: EMERGENCY RELIEF RESIDENCIES AT THE VERMONT STUDIO CENTER The Pollock-Krasner Foundation, Inc., as part of its Hurricane Sandy Emergency Relief Fund is collaborating with the Vermont Studio Center to assist visual artists who have experienced damage, losses, and/or displacement due to Hurricane Sandy by providing 4-week to 8-week studio residencies at the Vermont Studio Center in Johnson, VT. Eligible professional visual artists can be working in any discipline and must reside in Connecticut, New Jersey, or New York. Impacts may include loss of work, loss of or damage to studio space, interruption of creative routine, or displacement. Applications are accepted and awarded on a rolling basis with residencies scheduled beginning January 2013. For more information please visit
