A Message from our friends at the Suffolk Theater...

Dine with Us. Wine with Us. And be Entertained!

After many years of hard work, the Suffolk Theater in downtown  Riverhead has finally re-opened. The theater first opened in 1933 with great fanfare, and now in 2013 ... eighty years later ... there's even more excitement as this beautiful art-deco cinema has been restored to a cabaret style performing arts center. The Suffolk Theater is on Main Street. And the beautiful electronic marquee lights up downtown Riverhead, serving as a beacon for first class entertainment.

Almost every night has something exciting and interesting and wonderful to experience. This is nightclub style theater.

For the complete schedule of concerts, movies, musical and theatrical events check out suffolktheater.com.

The community news website has created a column called First Impressions - where an image of artwork is posted each week and readers respond by writing comments about what the work means to them. At the end of the week, the artist posts what they were thinking when they created the piece. Click on the title above to see the first installment featuring local photographer Meryl Spiegel's Scissored, from her Phantoms series. Patch is looking for artists to participate. All you need is a jpg of an image of your work (size: at least 72 dpi, at least 6 x 6 inches) and a paragraph describing what you were thinking when you created the artwork. Email the image and descriptive paragraph with your name, town of residence, name of the work, medium, and artist website to Meryl Spiegel: meryl@merylspiegel.com. Please also notify if you are a member of East End Arts. Meryl will contact you if your work is selected. Take advantage of this great opportunity for FREE artist publicity!
